Titan or Warlock as an alt? Help me decide ~

Warlock!

Titan!

I HAVE DECIDED TO ROLE A WARLOCK DUE TO VOTING.
The intention of this thread is to ask the community what I should make as an alt to level up. By no means should this thread be used for flaming and unnecessary rudeness. If you have nothing constructive or supportive to say than don't bother. Okay now for the question. I already have a 30 Hunter, I want to make a second alt to get to 30. I like the Warlock and Titan, they both seem really cool but I cannot decide what to actually make! So community, you decide for me! I will wait for a lot votes, once I get a majority of votes in whatever is the highest I will play. Explain why you chose your vote and what your preferred playstyle is, I do know a lot about both classes but I am very interested to read all of your perspectives!
Happy voting!

  • Warlock for hard mode raids only. Titan for everything else. That bubble is super useful.

I have 2 Warlocks now, one as an alt to get to 30. I also have one Titan, lvl 26. I would choose Warlock in most cases. Warlock: A lot of technique required to fulfill full potential of Sunsinger's super. Can resurrect and return using super (to burn the guys who just killed you), extremely useful in VoG. Travels furthest horizontally. I have been able to effortlessly reach several useful platforms that my Titan and Hunter friends failed to reach. Sunsinger's super can reduce cooldown of ally abilities. Given a tactical and communicative team, this can be extremely useful in boss fights. Voidwalker when specced correctly for DPS can run rampant, especially in PvE. As my Titan I would watch as my Warlock fireteam swiftly obliterated dozens of enemies and be slightly envious, though my Titan isn't specced correctly. Overall I love playing as a Warlock. It took a couple weeks getting used to but now I feel like an angel of death.

Warlock. I have all 3 classes and enjoy playing each of them in their unique ways but I find the Warlock to be my favorite. The most fun I have in this game is when I use Sunslinger radiance with fusion grenades, the cooldown refreshes super fast allowing you to 'nade spam to your heart's content - its like the gift that keeps on giving as they will chase and attach themselves to nearby targets who will be in the act of taking cover with other targets when they go off. Like to melee? That cooldown also refreshes insanely fast and with the Solar Wind enabled you can really take advantage of cliffs or other environmental situations. Not to discount the Voidwalker subclass - shatter with Annihilate enabled is some serious destruction.

      • Titan! My thoughts: Both subclasses: * Good aerial movement options (better than Warlock IMO, except Blink) * Good native toughness, highly survivable in PvE and decent in PvP * Powered armor FTW! Striker: * Melee brute: Stormfist w/Overload (may cooldown instantly on kill); also gets Shoulder Charge for 1HK in most PvP fights. * Super versatility: can use more from ground game or air; can add damage field after explosion. * Great support gear: Insurmountable Skullfort or Inmost Light are both fantastic options. Defender: * Clutch team saves in PvP: Ward of Dawn FTW! (Best with Helm of Saint-14 as below.) * Stalwart survivability: Stackable defense boosts for melee kills and super perks. * Class perk for super cooldown: Focus on STR and DSC without fear. * More great gear: Helm of Saint-14 makes Ward cause AoE Blind - HUGELY useful. Striker fight style: You are the weapon, not the gun in your hands. Press and aggress. Learn to use Shoulder Charge - VERY useful in both PvP and PvE. All melee (not just Stormfist) has a surprising little lunge if you're directly lined up with the target (takes a bit of practice). When you see a scrum of enemies, holler FALCON PUNCH as you trigger Fist of Havoc. (FoH also makes a surprisingly useful panic button, but that can be a waste unless it saves you from death.) Autorifles, Pulse Rifles, and Shotguns are your buddies. Heavy weapons are player's choice but I find Machine Guns super useful. Inmost Light gives you all the mobility enhancements for your super, so consider Aftershocks and Aftermath to buff it further. You can also try Shockwave and Transfusion. Skullfort gives you free Transfusion - pair this with Overload and Shoulder Charge to become a melee vampire. Defender fight style: You have good native toughness, but AMAZING toughness with the right perks. Try Unbreakable with Disintegrate (Force Barrier recharges) and Relentless (Force Barrier is tougher and longer lasting). You become a tank with FB up. Bear in mind, Disintegrate does not deplete its charge if it does not kill, so don't hesitate to punch the crap out of anyone and everyone you run into (soften them with a Shotgun or Fusion Rifle blast if needed). You also get an awesome sticky grenade (Magnetic) for basic use and a more tactical grenade (Suppressor) for PvP use. Use Ward at key points to help your team or take strategic points in PvP. Learn when to fall back and bait out supers using Ward, too. I like Pulse or Scout Rifles with this sub, Fusions usually as Special, and Rockets as heavy (but some MGs too). The right rockets can become an ammo-based alternative to an AoE damage super. Helm of Saint-14's AoE Blind makes almost any other Defender exotic obsolete. Get it at any cost!

        • I have a 29 hunter main and just Made a titan a couple days ago in hopes of being able to tank a little better. Im guilty of having a Rambo mentality occasionally, but everyone loves locks, as they can self res and save our asses.
