I AM DONE WITH THIS RNG CRAP FOR RAIDING.
Look bungie we understand you're trying to stretch out what little content there is to keep us busy but for Christ sake us hardcore players especially me and my friend are feeling extremely ripped. I've resorted to being a scrub and making 2 characters of the same class just to get raid gear and more chances at the mythoclast. I've done the normal raid every week since it launched on my hunter and twice on my other hunter and received not one piece of raid gear. All I see is -blam!-ing ascendant materials, how am I meant to use these if I have no gear? I'd be happy spending a few weeks at a time on all 3 classes but you've forced most of us to make multiple of the same class just to reach max level and still -blam!- us over with shards and a useless ship every week, bump up the percentage at least or put in some sort of need/greed system so we don't just expect nothing every time I go in there it's been nearly 2 months. I've even done hard mode 6 times and people join in once and get the mythoclast, I've had a friend do it twice and get it both times plus 2-3 guns. I love this game but give us legit hardcore players a chance this is so frustrating.

It's clear this is your first MMO type game and you really don't know how Raids are structured in that respect. Maybe it's Bungie fault for not clarifying this to FPS players, since there's a divide between RPG and FPS. Just be happy you're not involved in traditional MMO Raids. It usually involves 5 - 20 people (Vanilla wow it's 40 people). Every time you beat a Raid Boss, a random piece of gear drops that is SPLIT among the Raid group. Meaning, 2 pieces of gear could drop, and you have to figure out a way to distribute that among your 20 people. So say you're one of those 20 people. You're hoping that every boss kill one of the drops will be something you don't already have, and is for your class (That's right, it could be for any class), and you have to hope you can roll or bid for said piece, against another person of the same class. Try doing that every week, and you can go for months without getting anything if you're incredibly unlucky. At least in this game, every boss drop, drops something for you and more often than not it's for your class, or at least something you can use (weapon, ship, speeder, etc). So actual "hardcore" raiders are kinda laughing inside when reading about this complaint.

Meanwhile, someone else could have gotten every single raid weapon in the same amount of time. That's just how rng works, there is no equal probability amongst anyone, some people get more, some people get less, some get nothing at all. It's stupid I know. You can be as dedicated or as skilled as you want, but that won't change the odds of rng at all. Take a break. Come back and try your luck again.

1 ReplyLuck is luck bud... I've been stuck on 29 for ages but I'm not crying about it. When my last raid gear drops I'll be happy till then keep grinding. People get so worked up over RNG games.

It can be a little frustrating to receive little-to-no reward for completing a tough challenge, but take a step back and see this for what it is. Do you really need to be so irritated you did not receive a virtual weapon/armor/color shader for said armor? Keep playing, keep having fun doing it, and realize that a lot of the crap you are getting upset about will probably be pointless in a month or so anyway.

I am getting frustrated with this, too, and I've been raiding WoW for the last 4 years so I'm no stranger to RNG. I just need one more piece of raid gear to hit 30. I just want to hit 30 but the last two weeks I got weapons or shards, which I don't need. I can take either the chest or helmet and neither will drop. I wouldn't even mind ascendant energy to upgrade all these weapons I keep getting but all I keep getting is shards! I know it's not the end of the world but it's still frustrating and getting more so as the weeks tick on with no progress.

i love mmo games. Aion has always been my favorite. And yes, there is a currency system in place there to get high end loot. The best PvP loot could be bought with a currency received by doing pvp. The best pve loot however dropped from bosses. Much like this raid, you could get a full set of gear from the dungeon. Yes you could. But you also could get nothing. And since loot was shared and you had a 6 man team, you could precisely get that piece of loot you need and have it rolled to someone else. Drops are extremely easy to come by in this game compared to the mmos ive played, the only issue is with almost everything being able to drop everywhere and no real places to farm specific legendaries/exotics.

Why play an MMO style game then? Grinding is part of the game.Sometimes you get stuff but most of the time you dont.

3 RepliesI'm guessing this is your first time with an MMO type game? Enjoy the loot system as it's supposed to be that way. I remember getting my Dragonstalkers Chest in WoW for my hunter, the set had 8 pieces with the chest being the last piece I needed. It took me over 2 months to complete that set lol. It's just how it is, no matter how annoying it can get.

2 RepliesI have a question: Would it be better to go through on normal, collecting boss rewards and chests and then going through on hard. Or just going straight through on hard? I know your meant to get double rewards if straight on hard, but then your only opening chests once?

5 RepliesMy worst ever raid run was when I was letting my warlock do his first raid and I got 2 shards out of the first chest, 3 energy from oracle part, 3 energy from Templar, 3 energy from the one chest in Gorgons, 2 shards from the other, 3 energy from middle conflux before Atheon and 3 energy and chatter white for beating Atheon LOLOL

Don't, for the love of god, put in a need/greed loot system bungie. That is the single worst loot system a game can use.
