Calling experienced/logical players to debate loot/leveling system

*Before commenting I would really like this to be a serious conversation and not filled with people flaming me or others in the thread* So far I have played Destiny since day 1 and have played a minimum of 3-4 hours a day. (I'm also a cellular and molecular biology major and a complete social life just to immediately get rid of the "no life" trolls) My progression so far (as of 10/20/14) 9.5 normal completions 6 hard completions All with titans (I have 3) Loot count: WEAPONS: 1 atheons epilogue 2 visions of confluence 3 praedyths revenge 1 Hezens vengeance 1 corrective measure 1 last word 1 mida multi tool (gorgon chest) ARMOR: 0 helmets 1 gauntlets 0 chests 1 greaves MISC: 2 aspects of glass 5 time breakers Countless energy/shards It is such BS that getting to the highest level is completely RNG based. Every other mmo with a "level cap" at least gives you an alternate method to get the best gear whether it's via a token system (WoW) or a currency/checkpoint system (Wildstar, had to have killed the boss that dropped said loot before and then were able to purchase for a hefty price) The game has 2 even sides, PvP and PvE. Every other game has top tier gear for both parts of the game, there should at least be a method of getting "level 30" through PvP. And before anyone tries to say I'm dumb or a noob, my gaming resume is as follows: I am a former top-50 US raider in WoW former semi-pro halo player and I had a 50 in every playlist. I also have a 2.15 k/d in Destiny with a load out of: Striker Titan Juggernaut perk (shoulder charge is stupid) Suros (prefer vision/mida but they can't compete still) Praedyths revenge (never switch to shotty/fusion no matter what) Swarm (hmg > rockets) So I ask. Should destiny's system be revamped? Tl;dr I'm an actual smart/good player that believes destiny needs to fix it's endgame. Discuss

In my opinion they absolutely do need to fix the loot system. You won't make it far in life with a philosophy like,"oh it doesn't matter what I do or how hard I try, I have the same chances for progress as everyone else." However a philosophy like that would go well in a game like destiny, especially in the crucible, where it seems like the game's reward system is backwards. You can do absolutely nothing in the crucible and be given an exotic sniper rifle. I could carry the team to a win and get nothing. Random rewards frustrate serious players period. People love having goals, striving for their goals, reaching them, and getting rewarded appropriately. That's just human nature. The concept of a totally random reward system (in my eyes) is flawed from the get-go. Imagine checking Bungie.net one day and hearing about a new patch that made it so the top 3 spots in the crucible have a higher chance for legendary and exotic items. 1st place has the highest chance and 2nd place has the second highest and so on and so forth. The people playing crucible would be trying their hardest to get in the top spot. And people who sucked, would try hard to get better. When you see the guy in first place get rewarded with the Thunderlord, you know he deserved it. This would make me so much more inclined to play pvp.
