Acquiring Fallen, Hive, Vex and Cabal weapons.

This is something I've brought up in other threads, but I figured I'd make it its own thread to get some solid feedback about it. Weapon Pieces In order to obtain alien faction weapons you would need to acquire weapon pieces. These can be gathered from the various enemies you fight on a regular basis. Whenever you killed an enemy they would have a chance to drop 1 - 3 weapons peices for whatever weapon they were carrying. For example; If you killed a Fallen Vandal that was using a Wire Rifle, they would have a chance to drop Wire Rifle Pieces. Now that we have all these weapon pieces, what do we do with them? Once you've acquired a certain number of pieces for a weapon, you would take them to a special vendor in The Tower who would craft the weapon for you (or maybe the Gunsmith could do it). The rarity and base damage of the weapons you make would be based on the vendor's level. Each weapon would also have a specific perk to fit the weapon and additional random perks based on rarity. Level 0: Uncommon - Set perk Level 2: Rare - Set perk + 1 Random perk Level 5: Legendary - Set perk + 2 Random perks Crafting more powerful weapons would provide more experience (The Hive Boomer would net far more experience than the Fallen Shock Pistol). Other scavenged materials could also be introduced for higher tier weapons along with the weapon pieces, such as requiring Spirit Bloom to craft the Rare Vex Slap Rifle or Spin Metal and Helium Filaments for Legendary Hive Shredder. I feel this would be a good way to provide a large number of additional Primary, Special, and Heavy weapons to the game. What are your thoughts? Anything you would change or improve?

  • I find it a bad idea right now for us to get npc weapons for the fact of how over powered the weapons are, captains rifle follows, you shoot 7 bullets and follows any enemy for a kill, kinda stupid, cabal weapons are explosive, and the titan can get a vex helmet and we can get a vex weapon, other than that, but saying all that, give it abit more time for bungie to fix the many...many problems, after the expansions, bring them out when you can have your characters have hobbies like building armour and weapons and stuff like that, and in order for these weapons, certain levels of hobby, enough items and stuff, like my warlock has 900 weapon parts and no use for it, that and some other weapons combined into a new one, but thats later on

      • Those weapons are too OP when held by anything other than an NPC. Not gonna happen says Bungie and they will be nerfed too even if you could get them.
