Who else wants a trading/ exchange system implemented?
Firstly, I agree, implementing a trading system will attract "coin/shards farmers" but this can be easily prevented if the trading system came with a trading limit for example:
[b]All trade items between players must be of same value. NO MOTES OF LIGHT OR STRANGE COINS (Cannot trade an item without receiving something of equal value)[/b]
Legendary and Exotic gear could be traded for a Legendary or exotic piece (or something like that).
[b]Another option is to create an Exchange center/ booth/ vendor/ store. [/b]
This would allow players to put their items up for sale for whatever item they want to sell it for. Players would be able to search what other Guardians are selling through the exchange but make purchases.
These two options are only examples of what Bungie should implement soon. Why?
[b]Most players do not want to make a new Guardian just because they have a different class item.
Most players do not want to dismantle a duplicate legendary/ exotic item.
Most players do not want to keep two exotic weapon types with the same stats. (two exotic auto rifles)[/b]
........And the players that want to do the above will still be able to.
In my case, I have many items I don't want but others are desperate for and its the same the other way around.
So why isn't there a system implemented within the game?
Some people saying "No...." Please explain why not?

Bungie said weeks ago that they have not and do not ever intend to put a trade system in game between other players. Trading between your own characters is all they ever intended

Yeah I would love it, I already have a friend that will trade to me Hankmoon and the last word for 30 ascendent shard and 20 ascendent energy just waiting for the trade be available

I've been saying this since day 1... If the items I may get are random I should be able to trade w/ other players Why dismantle them if I can get something I really want from someone else who has it? It's more realistic that way Aren't we supposed to saving the world together anyways? Lol Makes sense to me...

Why not make an exchange to buy and sell with strange coins? Instead of trading. That'd be a great idea

Yeah I'd love to trade. I only play one character so it would be nice to trade with my friends the gear I have for other classes.

There really are very few things worth trading. Everyone wants the same few weapons and very few people would have dubs. Even if you had a dub you could use it on your 2nd toon (and save the swapping time). There is no economy here, few items, and no item really define playstyle (what i mean is.... most buffs are meh..) No real need for trading in the game's current state.

4 Repliesonly trading that would satisfy everyone is this: trade only allowed between members of a fireteam that completed an activity together (raid, strike, nightfall, etc.) this way if a titan gets a hunter reward and vice-versa, they can swap it before going back to orbit, then what is done cannot be undone. Only that, to prevent getting a shit ton of exotics for other classes when one of your teammates could have it.

No, I hear what your saying, but right now, there's no where near enough items to trade, everything will be wanting to get rid of the same gear, and want the same gear. However, IF they were to include a trading system; then the item value should be raised massively. You've said 17 strange coins, 20 motes of light etc. This is way below what they should be sold for. Example; 1 exotic helmet = 50-70 strange coins minimum... Most players can now get a "minimum" of 21 strange coins a week just by doing the weeklys. Therefore there practically being handed the item they want/need. And would hence be unfair to other players. If they were to implement a trading system, the currency would "have" to be motes of light. IMO a huge big fat no to a trading system

2 RepliesI dont know, ive been one of the people pulling for a full MMO-style player controlled economy. Trading, personal shops, etc... There literally is no reason we shouldnt be able to have them, other then the handful of people who complain about how it would make the tower look, and quite frankly, I dont think anyone really cares what they think. But it would add an element to the game that would give the higher level people something to do, albeit sitting in a shop in the tower, but farming things like the nightfalls and VoG would actually be worth while in said situation. And as far as "people having to work for their gear" I call BS. Considering the fact Bungie has done multiple weapon nerf's and has more planned for the future, please, tell me what reason I have to want to go farm VoG hard-mode for a mythoclast? Or any other piece of gear for that matter. I put in all that work just for you to nerf it later. No thanks, either you let me buy it or we will just skip it and you can have a giant piece of the game that no one wants to participate in.

This has good intentions but it will have terrible repercussions on this game that will make it seriously broken if this was a viable option. The reason why they have not done this is because it would defeat the purpose of playing the game for a chance at the best loot, in addition Bungie has already denied anything like this will happen anytime soon. Also remember its not a mmo but a shared world experience.

No, because there would be 5,000 shady websites selling strange coins within a week and newbs in the tower begging for money and gear. Screw in-game economy.

Definitely It would be awesome to trade with clan mates, friends, and randoms. It would be very helpful especially for the materials you need

The inclusion of this system would simply bring in too many farmers, manipulators and otherwise bad element to an already failing game and that would likely tip the edge off. Especially considering the fact of what is coming in terms of other games. The only caveat to this would be a system that would allow players to trade each other shards for energy or vice versa.

3 RepliesNo. If you get an exotic for the wrong class then store it in the vault for your next character if you get somthing you dont want then discard it. If we can get strange coins or motes easier then they will loose there value if we can trade then people wouldnt look at more characters just make the one they got awesome I completely aggree with the no trade route bungie has taken

5 RepliesNo Because people would farm for weapons and items and sell them onto other people effectively making the game pay to win It wouldn't be uncommon to see people selling armour, weapons and rare accessories to people that haven't played parts of the game well enough to earn them through legit means, taking away value in something people had to put effort into getting

It will upset the in-game economy. People will use real cash to purchase stuff from others and there is no practical reason. It won't make the game any better, just allow more exploitation... If you want a damn trading system so bad, go play another game! Don't ruin my game because you're lazy and can't go out and get those items you want. No more! You're not getting a trading system, so deal with it

I'll say no, I just think it would take a lot of fun out of the game, imagine being able to access every item in the game through a trade system, I've got about 6 Exotics and 5 Legendary's I'm currently not using, If I could trade all of those for items I needed I'd have no gear left to get, there would be no excitement finally seeing an item drop that I need.
