Constructive Ideas for Bungie

Here are a few things that I think would help with improving the morale of the Destiny Community. If you agree with my ideas, please bump the thread. Maybe someone from Bungie will see it if it's highly rated. Please refrain from complaining on this thread though. I don't want this to be a negative interaction, but I do want Bungie to see that the community does care about the game and we want to help make it better. -Refresh on shaders for armor. It's the same thing all the time and none of them look good. -Better gear from regular and event vendors. The queen had nothing useful, neither does Saladin. Maybe add an exotic weapon or class item that you can purchase if you get to rank 3 before they leave. -Events more often. Have the Queen's emissary come back as well as Saladin. Maybe a week off in between, and throw Xur in there during the week. You can add an Icon that appears at the tower so you know he is there, but the weekday he shows up is random. -Ability to send materials and gear to other players. I have tons of spin metal and spirit bloom that my friends could use. It would definitely make grinding less tedious and the interactions between guardians helping one another more commonplace. Especially clanmates. The person still has to play to level up the gear and unlock the attributes, but maybe cut back on the harvesting. Another option could be to purchase the resources for glimmer at a vendor, who could show up like Xur does. Maybe a vendor I can trade them into for Strange Coins so I can buy things from Xur. - I can't buy anything from any of the Factions because I don't play Crucible so I don't have any marks to purchase them. What is the use of being a part of the faction if I can't buy the items because I don't like playing crucible ? - It would be greatly appreciated if we can get some better Loot drop percentages. I have over 4 days play time between two characters and I have only ever had 2 legendary drops. My friends get them all the time... All I see are greens. Maybe we can have more blue and purple drops if you are over level 20. Or at least let my decrypt them at the cryptarch so I can level him up as well. -My vault is almost too full from the resources I gathered. I know you are probably saving a vault extender for DLC, but we could really use it now. -Some way to change the appearance of our characters after the initial creation. Hopefully for free please. I don't think I should have to pay to remove war paint that I thought would be cool, but isn't anymore. If you think I should pay, then let it be for glimmer. -I know that the cryptarch has had some fixes done to him already, but if a blue can turn into a purple if his level is high enough, that should happen more often once he gets to his higher levels. My friend's cryptarch is at least an 18-20 and blues never turn into purple. If that's the case, and they will always turn into blues, then take off the note on the engram that says it could possibly be a legendary. -I'd like to see more of the tower opened up for permanent vendor additions. There are plenty of side doors that I've noticed that could lead to other halls and vendors. The lounge over past the shipwrights is completely unused except for when Xur moseys over there. Maybe a vendor who could add light to our armor for motes of light. -The strikes are getting very stale. Adding more events with varying targets, possibly on either the reef, or other planets, or even different locations on the current planets, would help this a bit. There is only what, 6 strikes, and for some reason I ALWAYS end up fighting the Archon Priest. It's the best way to keep the game progressing, but it's turning into a chore. -Vault of Glass should definitely drop either an exotic or legendary engram everytime you beat the entire raid for everyone. I ran it and got nothing but shards, energy, and chatter white. That is ALOT of work for nothing. I really felt let down when everyone got guns and raid gear, and I got Chatterwhite. I'll keep running the vault because it is at least challenging, but I would really like to be rewarded for it a little better. EDIT: -Have the gunsmith level up as well. There should be some progression to him because he is useless to any players higher than level 5. All he sells is common and uncommon weapons. Maybe have him sell an exotic or good legendary weapon once a week. Those are my changes everyone. If you like them, please remember to positively or constructively comment on them, or your own ideas. Please don't turn this thread into a complaint session about how Bungie nerfed your favorite gun, or how you hate the game and everyone should boycott by not playing. I want to keep this clean and helpful so we can show Bungie that as mature gamers of all ages, we can focus on making the game better.

  • It looks like they are fixing some of the issues people had with the Iron Banner now. Gear that you can buy to level up to 30 and more of a difference for level advantage. Unfortunately, they have made it accessible to level 20's or above (Lower levels can access is their fireteam leader is 20+) which means instead of a 7 level difference, it's a 10 level difference.

  • Addition: a way, for people who hate the crucible, to complete exotic bounties. There is absolutely no way I can do the Bounty for Thorn. I hate playing the PVP, and I have to get 500 void points from kills with a Hunter ? There should be an alternate way to unlock Thorn that doesn't force people to play PVP.

  • I feel like engram drops were reduced to almost nonexistent. I haven't seen a purple in 2 weeks and I probably see 4 blues a week max (from drops, not rewards from dailies/ weekly etc). I'm not trying to be negative but it was always exciting seeing them randomly drop. Like hitting the lottery.

    • I'm not sure if loot drops got fixed in the new patch, but over the past 2 days I have gotten 3 legendaries. I even got the G-Horn today as a reward for completing the Nightfall. Has anyone else seen some improvement ?

      • These are all great ideas. I think most players would be satisfied with these changes.

          • I like the idea about adding light to armour from motes of light, currently all they are good for are purchasing exotic engrams from xur, and the aesthetic only stuff from the speaker. However I think it would require regulating so that it takes 5 motes then 10 then 20 then more and more per piece of armour to prevent players using it as an easy level 30 get. I would like to add space flight and jump ship combat to the list, beyond the asteroid belt where man has not yet been it should be impossible to merely warp to a planet until you have been there, as such you should be required to find maybe a Fallen ship or something amidst the asteroids and engage in zero gravity combat from your ship and outside of it to obtain warp coordinates. After that it would be short order to add in starwars battlefront style space combat for PvE strikes and PvP play.

I posted it's own thread before but I really would like some discussion on this so Ill post here also. Also, add #idea to this post. Makes finding real feedback alot easier when you search via that tag. Some of you may point out the inspiration of this system in a heartbeat but it would apply well in Destiny and allow for more unique and moldable weapons. Currently in Destiny, all weapons of the same name have the same base stats but can slightly differ from each other with special mods and unlocks, thus changing the final stats from each one slightly different. While this is great and all, but you don't have much control over each weapon other than the luck of finding the one you want. So what if we could affect the course of our weapons stats and even our own base stats a little more? In a way that either just happens over time naturally or by deliberately handpicking the development of the stats to our choosing. In a list, I will make it as short as possible: Player Stats: *Each Class starts out with the same base stats. *While you level up different enemies can raise individual stats differently. Example: Fallen kills tend to raise you agility and Intellect a little more while Cabal would raise your Armor and Discipline more. *These stats can be reset and curbed more or less by swapping armor, subclasses, and subclass upgrades. *Armor itself will again have effects towards your development. *Stat changes to a single armor peace will stick and stack until maxed. This means once you apply the stats to an armor piece, it stays. You could have 3 of the same armor pieces all with different stats molded by you. Weapon Stats: This will play out differently. If we were to allow the weapons use the same system, it would be frustrating trying to level up both play and weapons stats at the same time. In this case different enemies will drop different items. For example, take the items that are dropped during patrol missions and put them to use. *All Weapons of the same name have the same Base stats *More consistency to manufacturers by making note that certain manufacturers prioritize a certain stat over others and allow for easier upgrades on that specific stat. Example: Manufacture X makes it weapons to allow for quick reload but high recoil. Upgrades to the reload stat progress more quickly than the others thus needing less resources but the recoil is harder to upgrade and require more resources. *Different enemies drop different items, when applied to a weapon, it will raise a single stat slightly more. So if you have a fusion rifle and you want more damage out of it, kill Fallen, collect Shock Cores, apply to the weapon. You want it to have a faster charge time, Kill Vex, Collect Torchlight Bindings. Both have a total XP which are spread out between what you apply to them. So if you focus solely on one stat, you won't be able to raise others. When a weapon is found, some of those points may already be pre applied to certain stats by default. All of this will allow for moldable weapons to personally fit your style and a bit more a more unique feel to your weapons over time. You and your friend might have the same weapon, but maybe yours fires faster while his has more range. Instead of the game pre deciding for you, you have more control. This also gives a bit more to really work for in the game and allows players to really attach themselves to a particular look and style and call it their own. If you haven't figured it out by now, Pokemon's EV and IV point system is what brought this idea to light. Here is one last example to help explain further: Player and Weapon Stats are moldable through different aspects of play. Best example to this is how Pokemon EV and IV points work. Certain enemies and items help apply points to certain stats. Another Example would be: Defeat a Fallen enemy: +5 Agility +3 Intellect +1 Armor Shock Core Drop. When Applied to a weapon, it raises the Impact stat of the weapon by 1. If that Weapon has been made by Manufacturer A, who favors the Impact Stat at the cost of high recoil, it will be +2 instead. Defeat Cabal Solider: +5 Armor +3 Discipline +1 Agility Slug Screw Drop. When Applied to a weapon, it reduces recoil by 2. If that Weapon has been made by Manufacturer A, Who favors Impact at the cost of high recoil, it will be reduced by 1 instead. Anything to add or alter to this system? • Just a heads up, you can earn crucible marks by handing materials in to the crucible quartermaster. It's not much, like five marks per 50 material but you can do this to buy that faction gear.

                • I like these ideas, and I also like the fact that this is an actually calm and constructive thread. It's like hearing a late night radio host talk about smooth jazz when all you had heard all day was screaming twelve year olds. My two cents: I think that public events should be more frequent and a bit harder (just a tad). I have ideas for new ones but that's the subject of a new thread entirely.
