pvp - what do you class as skill ability tactics gaming ?

I see so many sad fanboys trying hard to defend the game but forget the short story or excuse of dlc forget it all just pvp talk So 1st thing when playing pvp what do you call skill gaming ability tactics thought playing ??? Is it fair to give better armor and upgrades on an online mode with stats on a pvp game is it fair that because 1 gamer can spend5 hours a day on a game and others have a family or kids or other jobs and can only play say 2 hours and earn half as much and half the rewards that then effect the game play on iron banner [yes its broke for now but in future lol] for your thoughts [forget the broken game just not with unbalanced guns and 1 hit shotguns] [b]Destiny[/b] - full time radar warning you of any and all players within 50mtrs at all times that cant be counterd - extra health - unlimited health regen - shields - unlimted shield regen - heavy weapons hitting twice as hard yet the stats of the gun are the same as primary ? - special power ups that you get no mater what - no set repawn times - team mates dont cause damage or kill you with anything so no consequences - double or triple jumps - on screen warings of the enemy taking points in control - in game voice warning of enemy players taking points in control - no set rewards for engrams after wins or losses [b]Cod [/b] hardcore [forget crap cheating perks just the basic game mode] - less health than destiny - no health regen - no shields - no full time radar - radar needs to be earned only if a player picks its as a reward so not 100% 0f every getting a radar - radar does not show players if you have ghost on so still no help - no double or triple jump away from bullets or explosions - no on screen or in game voice warnings for game modes lossing points - respawn times - S&D 1 death puts you out the round - less bullets to get the kill - headshots are headshots ok cue the fanboys and lets see what you lots see me i think its a no skill no brains game to play any game mode in pvp with a radar and all games should remove it it takes no skill to look up and see all the players all the time and use no thought or skill to move around a map and outsmart the enemy, an health regen is a terrible idea for pvp game modes when online and not in normal game mode

  • If you aren't talking about CS:GO, you're talking about a casual's FPS. I'm saying this about Destiny, as well as CoD. I play Destiny because it's fun, and I'm not comparing this game to another. Because Destiny is my laid-back-on-the-coach shooter, just like CoD.

  • They just need to spice it up with some more game modes. A barebones with no supers or radar, a permanent level advantage mode and some more game types like ctf, permanent koth etc. But first of all fix the bloody netcode. Until that happens I can't take the crucible serious.

You can still be crap on CoD and have someone get a radar, this the whole team benefits Having perks in any game at all = automatic noob fest Having uncontrollable insta death AI killstreaks= noob fest Advanced Warfare has double jumping Due to quick kill times players are cheap and just sit in one spot, most likely areas with high traffic looking in the same direction for easy kills Come to think about it I bet the existence of loot cave farming came about because of lazy CoD players Silencers totally take you off the map, which is bullshit because most silencers do not expel 100% of noise emitted Horrible spawns One usable weapon that destroys the rest 12 year olds Noobs

        This post is stupid. All FPSs are not the same. A lot of this stuff in destiny pvp many of us are used to because it was there in halo. EVERYONE has the radar not just you so that nullifies the real advantage. The advantage comes when you choose not to look at it like a dummy. All in all, this is an apples to oranges comparison and WHERE THE HELL IS THIS RULE BOOK THAT SAYS ALL FPS HAVE TO BE XYZ WAY OR ELSE ITS BROKEN?

Destiny (a game created by Bungie who has roots in a very popular FPS called Halo) - full time radar warning you of any and all players within 50mtrs at all times that cant be counterd - Came from Halo - extra health - Everyone has the same amount. There are very obvious respawn timers that are the same for everyone. - team mates dont cause damage or kill you with anything so no consequences - Are you planning on Tk'ing? - double or triple jumps - I guess you haven't seen any AW footage yet - on screen warings of the enemy taking points in control - this is in CoD - in game voice warning of enemy players taking points in control - This is in CoD - no set rewards for engrams after wins or losses - RNG man. RNG. Cod hardcore [forget crap cheating perks just the basic game mode] - CoD basic game mode is core. Not hardcore. Core is what the majority plays - less health than destiny - no shit.             .... and I truly, honestly, for the love of God, hope Bungie never changes it. Because you just about listed what I love about games like Destiny and Killzone and despise games like COD. Love that I can actually have a 1-1 gunfight without sub-millisecond deaths, love the radar because there is less camping, no problem with shields because they can all be countered and doesn't cod have riot shields ?? love the high mobility high jumps, guns have recoil and feel like..guns, really man, be glad that both games are so far apart: you can enjoy your cod and I can enjoy my destiny.

                      [b]Serious answers to your above post[/b] 1] The weapons and armour are generally made even for PvP. Yes, some weapon perks give you an advantage. I think that's a good idea personally. It makes the game play more interesting. I would agree that shotguns need another another nerf, and would also say that Scout Rifles need a buff. I can land a few headshots with a SR and do hardly any damage. That is frustrating. 2] The radar warning of players near your position makes for an interesting chess style game play. You know there is a player nearby, so can you anticipate his moves? What moves will you take? Crouching does take you off the radar briefly. This can make it confusing for the other player who may think you were killed or moved away. 3] The health does sometimes seem a little high, especially if you use scout rifles. I can land a few head shots and they still have half a bar of health! 4] Shields regenerating is an interesting idea. It gives you time to make an escape and rethink your tactics. They had the same on Halo. 5] The heavy weapons add an interesting dynamic to the game. There is a mad dash for heavy fire power. The winner dominates provided he uses his weapons well. 6] The power ups are an interesting feature of the game and the lore. They can be avoided in PvP using jumps/warps and hunters can be killed when using their power ups. 7] Set re-spawn times would make sense. Good idea. Suggest it in feedback ... 8] Friendly fire is not fun. Who in their right mind wants that enabled? 9] Double, triple, and warp jumps add a vertical dynamic to the game play. Not only can your enemy use vertical heights to gain an advantage, but so can YOU. 10] The on screen warnings in control encourage players to move and defend (control) an area. Otherwise, people would just play control like a death match. 11] Totally agree with you on the rewards issue. Every players should get a reward for playing PvP to make it worthwhile. However, the best players should get the best rewards (for the most kills and highest K/D). Would you really want every FPS to be like COD? Destiny is different and interesting. That makes it unique and fun to play.

                      • Entirely different games. And you're simply cherry picking game modes to compare. It's a lot easier to kill in COD which means if someone got the drop on you, be it by flanking or blind luck, you're guaranteed to lose that 1v1. Radar is just a mechanic in the game, you still have to use it accordingly, not blindly running around corners and getting shot gunned. This game may not take as much skill as Halo, where strafing, jumping and specially aiming give you the upper hand, but if you play salvage or skirmish, skill definitely plays a role here, as you do tend to get into more 1v1s and map navigation and area control play a big role.

                            I feel like the radar actually makes this game more intense. When you know that someone is waiting around the corner, it forces you to make a split second strategy on how you are going to handle your enemy around the corner. Whether it requires you to toss a solar grenade to prevent him from coming around the corner, or bum rush him with a shorty or melee. Also with the health regen and shield regen, it adds a whole new layer to the game. You must kill an enemy before he regens, if you miss and he gets away from you then it is possible for him to come back and burn you down. But on the contrary, if you are good enough to kill him before he hides then you can easily kill him. This is a video game and not meant to be real life. Therefore, you can have regenerating health and respawns and triple jumps. With that said, I like CoD and I like this game, I don't know why people have to make comparisons like it is some kind of competition. I feel like there are many ways to look at this and also feel like you are being unfair. Both games have strengths and weaknesses, for you to list only the weaknesses of one game and on the other hand list only the strengths of another game is pretty unfair. But you are titled to your own opinion, however closed minded that may be.
