High Levels and Assisting the Community
I read a lot of posts that hate on all high leveled players because we "only care about ourselves".
Most are related to the VoG and how people in the 25-27 level area are being neglected from doing the Raid because no higher levels will help them through it.
I've been level 29 for about a week now, and I've been spending most of my time helping lower levels with the Raid or with the Weekly Strikes, or anything I can do to make the game easier for others, and make it so that they can progress.
Considering the only way to move up to 30 is to be lucky enough to obtain all the raid gear, I've just been taking it upon myself to show the community that not all high levels are dickheads, and I think more people should look at it with more optimism. I personally can't stop playing Destiny, but can't even get a chance of progression until next week when the rewards reset.
I know there are a good handful of 29+'s out there who do help lower levels, most of the time the people I help are complete strangers, but find satisfaction in knowing that they're making progress through Destiny with my help.
So if you're a 29+ player who's refuses to help another player because of their skill or knowledge of the game, please surrender your consoles to Waste Management so that they can properly take it as far away from your salty ass as possible.
This game is nothing without the community of players, so why not make it a better experience for everyone?

I have nothing against helping lower levels. However we are not obligated to carry anyone through the raid if we don't want to. So to complain when we say no is pretty childish

6 RepliesJust have to say that I am no where even close to the level that most are on here. I am only a level 21 and barely that. I find it funny that some people will help and some won't. I personally would love to help but I know I suck at this game and most of the ones I try. But I keep trying. I have only been playing games of any kind since Christmas. I am not a young kid and it does not come natural to me. LOL. I really enjoy this game and played the beta version and was hooked. I like playing as a hunter because I can take my time and hit them from far away. I am terrible in a firefight up close. But give me cover and distance and I will win my campaign every time. I played on a team early on and actually had one of them tell me that I should never play another game again and I suck so bad it hurt him to watch. I told him thank you and I will keep trying. LOL. Anyway, hope everyone enjoys the game as much as I do. Maybe I will see some of you in there and I can try to play on your levels someday.

I'm not an expert at the raids but I've played since the beginning and raided at 26 the first time in when the vog first opened so I know it can be a daunting task when you are a lower lvl. idk if I should be leading raids but I'll lend some good firepower and advice. Xbox one gt dist0rt113 lvl 31,few shards away from 32. weekends or earlier in the afternoon is when I'm available to do something that takes awhile like a raid

1 ReplyI spent a good amount of time helping lower levels. I've been level 30 since the third week of VoG. I gave up helping due to people being very negative towards the advice I was giving. I'm all for using other people's strategies in the VoG, but after a handful of wipes they should realize that they may need to adjust their plan. Those who don't, I don't waste any more of my time trying to help them.

I'm a level 28, and have never done the VoG raid. I will eventually. I can make it to level 29 with a bunch of ascendant shards. My helmet, gauntlets and boots still have more upgrades available once I get the shards. I will eventually get around to doing raids. But in the meantime, I've run around doing patrols a lot. I also do the dailys, weeklys, and Vanguard strikes. Sometimes I'm the weakest player, and sometimes I help lower level players. Doesn't matter to me. I have no hesitation to jump in and help a lower level player out in the game, I don't understand why someone would be so elitist as to find it bothersome.
