Public Events not giving ANYTHING after 10-13 done?
Guys, I've been farming a lot the whole weekend and today... made basically 10-13 events, only the first i made gave me something (Ascendant Shards), because the rest was NOTHING! Getting Gold Tier (3 Stars) in all the events... (except for a few in the moon that was kinda bugged i guess)...
How come after doing a lot of events, i get nothing from it on every single one? is there a CAP? really? if so, it doesn't motivate you doing those events or hunting them... game is not rewarding people who actually likes to farm the good way... This isn't a "cave glitch" or whatever, it's your public events played properly... give something at least, not saying 100% chance of getting something, but at least a 60%... not having something after barely 10 in a row, it's not cool.
I basically burn my eyes farming, and then PISSES me off that a guy gets an Exotic Hawkmoon from a stupid Control Crucible on YouTube... REALLY? with only 18 kills he got a Hawkmoon? Looks like i'm doing something wrong in here lol :P
Being Lv28 i solo every weekly and daily heroic in Lv28 difficulty without using glitches or game advantages... yea sure i get some good marks and strange coins, but haven't gotten the luck to get an exotic from it yet :(

2 RepliesCompletely correct this needs fixed! I might do three or four public events in a row while doing my patrols and sometimes get shards or energy from it which is nice, however there are a number of problems with the RNG on loot for public events. They need to fix it so when your the only person doing the Public Event and someone runs up at the end and gets one kill they don't get the drop. It is unfair to the player who is defending the Warsat (for example) by themselves and someone comes in at the end to get the shard/energy. The other one I LOVE is the guy who shots one person then runs away leaving you to do all the work and then gets the shards. They need to fix the loot on the public events for your participation in completing it not that you shot once and ran away.

3 RepliesPublic Events work like this: Once a day, you can get all of your characters and earn hold tier on them. You get your reward in the mail for it after completion. The rest you do is RNG whether or not you get something for completing it, and if you do get something it pops up on the left hand of your screen like picking up engrams after that first one.

Go onto destinypublicevents.com to find out where and when the public events happen. I found that they have been happening about 75% of the time five minutes after the scheduled time(when they do happen). Earth is the easiest to find them on. Yes the Tiger strike will get you maybe 2-3 blue engrams per run. I did the Tiger strike for 2 hours straight and I leveled up the cryptarch 3 times. All i got because of the RNG was a couple motes of light and a few strange coins. The legendary package is random and the majority of the time only gives you blues not purple engrams.

3 RepliesSo are trying to get shards, energy, legendaries, exotics, motes or strange? Then run the Tiger playlists and level your cryptarch with the rewards. Most efficient way by far. You should be able to level him once per hour. That's one guaranteed legendary package an hour.

Its the same with the crucible. You can spend half an hour fighting, do pretty good and get absolutely nothing but some XP in exchange.

I just do 1 public event a day per character whenever I get the chance. I do not bother farming public events. My time can be invested elsewhere.

Ive had days where I just get the item from the postman after your first one and then gotten nothing else but like today I played 2 events and walked away with 4 shards.

After the first gold tier public event of the day you have a low chance to get ascendant materials. I have done many of them and sometimes i'll get 4-5 in a row that give me extra shard/energy, other times i'll get nothing for 5 of them besides vanguard marks and glimmer. Its random and if i had to guess i would put it at 10-20% chance to get extra ascendant material from gold tier public events after the first.

1 ReplyThe way I play to get ascendant materials is doing bounties to level up rep and then the weekly and daily stuff. I do the PvE bounties in places where public events happen keeping track on the website "destiny public events".I try to do as many patroll missions " kill enemmies" while doing bounties as well, so as to increase further faction rep. This way ill get the daily public event package in the mail as well as some marks. In my opinion you should try to multitask as much as possible,and if you are lucky you will get random ascendant shards other than the guaranteed ones, instead of just farming public events only that will give you only marks and random shards.

4 RepliesWho even does that many public events in a day?? Unless you have the 3 gold tier bounty, there's no reason to do more than one (aside from engram drops & marks).

The first public event you do each day will yield ascendent materials. You can get this reward with each of your three available characters. So if you are looking for Ascendent Shards and Energy just do a public event with three characters and move on to Daily's.

I noticed that my drops from them were getting less and less......but I was usually doing the walker tank in the divide - which still never gives me anything but the post office drop for the 1st. I've gone to other planets and gotten drops of shards, motes, or energies once I started using my stockpile of shards, motes, and energies in finally upgrading my armor and guns ymmv though

You are guaranteed Ascendant Materials for completing your first Public Event for the day and achieving Gold Tier Rank. After that, it's all RNG. I completed 3 yesterday with a friend. He received Materials from all three, while I received materials from the first one only.

There is no cap. You are just getting unlucky.

10 RepliesYou can only get rewards once for each event per character. So 1 hard raid, 1 easy raid, 1 nightfall, 1 herioc (28) per week, and 1 daily heroic, 1 public event per day.
