Why Day 1 DLC actually Exists. Just a friendly reminder.

So as a game developer myself, I see a lot of ignorance in the way that a game is treated when it is discovered that content is "on the disc" This info-graphic was released back during the mass effect shit storm, and it holds true to this day. If you don't want the developer to fire half the art staff every time a game finishes preproduction, be happy that day one dlc exists.

  • Sheit, what people seem to forget is that it takes practically the GDP of a small country to produce one game let alone one as far reaching as this one will hopefully will be. Probably never played a mmorpg game in their lives. The stuff that was found was probably for an event update soon in the future. Hell, the Queens Wrath mission was probably already on the disc since day one as well. The reason they may choose to do this is to save massively long download times, which people would probably bitch about as well. All they have to do if the content is already on the HD is flip a switch with a small update and off you go. But people aren't willing to wait it out and get all butt hurt when something that may or may not be true pops up. And to everybody crying about paywalls and other crap......be glad you don't have to pay a monthly sub. 10-20 bucks for more content is a fùggin pittance to pay employees to create new content. Ask a WOW player how much they spend annually just to play a game and STILL pay for expansions that cost practically the same as a brand new game.
