Hey guys I read this article. It really hit home.. well this home in Destiny I found with you guys.. I really haven't played with alot of you.. Kind of find the same guys when I log on.. And some of you are always on full fireteams so I don't bother.. But give it a read if you have the time.

Destiny has engendered the same kind of camaraderie that Dark Souls and Demon Souls did. Must be something about the trinity of fireteams. "Jolly co-op" in the Souls' franchise was always about helping each other overcome a brutally difficult game, and gestures were part of the subculture. Destiny has taken a lot of cues from that franchise, in the best ways, and the results are wonderful. I also agree with premise of the short vid in the article: "How Do You Review A Game Like Destiny"? Short answer, you can't. That's why there are so many luke-warm reviews. These people attempted something that's impossible, and are feeding people a lot of erroneous information. Players put off by reviews will discover Destiny eventually, as it evolves beyond the expectations of even a supportive community. And they will be sad that they discovered this masterpiece after the fact, and not when it was new and unexplored. Like we did.

I like this article. I have many of the exact same experiences. I'd never play with any pugs in any other games unless they were friend of friends. I have made many new friends and we enjoy each other company. From the looking for group for the vault or bashing each other because we got that one gun everyone is looking for.

I've been impressed by other players too. While doing chest routes people dance or wave when they find one and they actually wait for people to get there before they open it. It actually makes farming materials fun.
-
Lol, yea sure. Next time you're in try joining someone's fire team randomly and see if you don't get yelled at for not having a mic.
-
Nice. I like it. I feel the same way!

No IGN article should ever be read. They're the worst game "journalists" out there.
-
Some of my favorite moments come from when my friends aren't on and I'm patrolling by myself. I love helping other guardians complete public events, especially if they seem to be struggling with it. Once it's complete, there's usually a small dance party or a wave before running separate directions.

I swear I never see the messages show up while im playing :( where do the appear?

Strangely enough, people in this game are very friendly compared to others. Thinking of WoW, all everyone ever does is talk smack to eachother. Horde vs Alliance, guild vs guild, server vs server, even down to a 5-man pug (where someone is always blaming a tank, heals, or low dps). Really the only friendly time I had was with personal friends or my guildmates (some who became personal friends as well). I've joined pugs on Destiny through destinylfg and so far everyone has been very friendly. Even when our group is struggling through the Nightfall, we all just kind of laugh and keep at it. My VoG groups haven't been any different either. Destiny has only been out a few weeks, but I've honestly had several memorable moments in this game that I wish I could find in other games. Sure it has its problems, but I'm having a great time with it. Why the forum community is so much different and hostile, I have no clue.

Didn't realize trolls and haters would read.. but to each his own.. I'm loving the game .

Omg this thread nearly got reduced to something you would read over in the main forum lol. I don't care much for ign, they do have some stuff worth a read some times though. Just like the stories in the back of filthy mags. Occasionally there's a good un lol Monkey

Ridiculous. 'I made a friend! 10/10' - IGN -blam!- off.
-
Edit that #tag out things getting a little crazy over here lol Monkey

i have met my fair share of stat whores and tryhards but this article was about the game and not the forums thankfully

Written by some schmuck who has never had a friend in his life. I think he might have a little crush on Billy.
-
Nice article. A little sappy, but nice.
-
You are suggesting ign and posting the only article that is positive for destiny? This is a sad attempt on defending a dying game.
-
I don't even need to read an IGN article to know it will kill brain cells

Edited by A Saturnalia: 10/2/2014 2:26:08 AMI disagree, I've said terrible nasty things to people who repeatedly die the exact same way over and over in the Raid and I've gotten death threats in messages after I shit on them in the Crucible.

Very true. Overall only had experiences like this apart from the occasional douchies leaving when we get to the boss... Lol, I'm barely level 22, and all the stronger Guardians I've met have been very nice and helpful.

another good read for a cool game that never got released

Really great article.
