Dear Bungie

I'm not sure if you will see this, at the very least someone can relate with me about how I feel with all of this. So, here's my feedback on the game I've been playing for the last few days. First of all, Don't misunderstand this post. I still play this game as the core mechanics are fun. My wife and I love the co-op pve. However, we can only play these same missions so many times before we're tired of it or just plain bored. Oh, and The Crucible isn't enough to keep me playing while I wait for you to finish this game.... Not to mention, my wife isn't even interested in the crucible. So let me put this into perspective for you. Alright, so imagine an author that you are a huge fan of and have been for over a decade. You own every book they've ever written, every story they've ever told including a few short web films they made. One day, they announce their next book that they've already been working on for the past 4 years and will release sometime next year. What exciting news! Oh happy day!! They promise how it's a whole new exciting story that travels through our solar system to tell it. It all sounds to good to be true. You even get a small preview of it a month before it releases to really get you excited. (Let's say this book is also only available as a digital book) Then, release day comes. You're ecstatic and immediately when you get home, start up your Kindle/Nook or whatever it is you have and download the book. Then you start reading and at first it seems pretty good, then about half way through you realise not only do you still have no clue what the hell is going on, but there is only about 2 sentences on every page. Next thing you know, you're at the end. Books done, hardly even took a few hours to read and you STILL have no clue what the heck just happened. So you sit there, dumbfounded trying to understand if what you just read is really it. That this book actually has one of your top favorite authors name attached to it. You immediately turn to the internet for answers. Maybe your book was a fluke, maybe there are hidden pages or even a glitch happened that prevented the whole book from downloading. The answer? Oh, you just have to register on your authors website and create a link with your Kindle/Nook. After that, you just have to re-flip through the pages over and over and over again until you unlock more of the story to read on the website. So you try it out, and guess what? It still sucks and doesn't even compare to what they promised you from the start. So, I just read some of those cards and right at the beginning I knew it was still going to be bad. "You are a guardian." Really? No way?! You're messing with me. I thought I was just some random ordinary citizen. Awesome.... Basic thought on those cards. You're kidding, right?... I paid $60 to go and read the story of this game on your website?..... Really?.... I...I don't even know where to begin because *sigh*.... That's just sad and those cards STILL can't redeem this story. It's still crap. It's lazy, it's generic, has way to many holes and most of all boring. TL:DR Basically, you're telling me that this is the result of five years work and a huge budget?! Bullcrap, something happened. Borderlands 1 told a better story than this and that's just depressing to even come to terms with.(Especially since Borderlands 2 is where they clearly did better with the story). The lack of content and story in this game is beyond upsetting. Borderlands 1 & 2 had hours of content and places to travel and things to do. Even if the missions were relatively the same, you still had a breath of fresh air with it being new enemies and areas. Main point: This game could have and should have been SO much more with its story and content. It's honestly heartbreaking. Especially since I'm a big fan of Bungie and seeing you all pull this is upsetting... We were expecting a lot more, but can't help but feel extremely short changed in all of this. I'm really not sure if the story and content amount can even be redeemed at this point as I know a lot of folks are already trading it back in while they can still get a good amount for it in return. So here's hoping you truly learn from this and Destiny 2 at the very least becomes the game you promised us from the start. -Devoted fan

  • I feel you man. Me and my friends all decided to get destiny for the xbox one. After about 4 weeks all of us were pretty much done and quit. I came back for the queens wrath event but it didn't even add anything it just gave me some bounties and armor that's it. No new bosses, still bullet sponges and nothing changed. I want this game to work out and I love it with all my heart if it was better. But c'mon! Add some new stuff or at least change the pve a little bit more. It disappoints me how small the worlds are and how strikes get repetive. The only cool thing was the vault of glass which I beat in two days all I got was a ship and sparrow! The loot system still sucks and it makes me sad I'm done with it and moving on to halo 5, shadow of mordor, sunset overdrive, division, siege, unity, and batman arkham knight. I'm done with it and over. It was nice but I'd rather get a new game then let my one collect dust cause thers no games. You might think I hate it but I find it entertaining.....for 45 minutes. Then get bored. All in all I want them to make it up to us and if they don't I'm not getting destiny 2.

  • I totally agree with you in this. I just wish there was more substance behind the sorry and even the characters. Like if the speaker or any other were to die within the story I wouldn't care at all but when you look at other games they get you attached to the characters and the story so there is a connection between the player and the story

OMFG, are we all going to finally agree on something, or is PvPkid on his way to tell us "...to get skillz or get wrecked," like always?

      • I agree. I honestly don't know where the time and money went other than advertising and star power. This game does not equal 500 million dollars and 5 years of work.
