If there was nothing wrong with being gay then why do people get so upset when you use it as an insult? Words are only demeaning if you make them demeaning, otherwise it just makes you sound stupid. "That's so straight" doesn't sound offensive, so why is "that's so gay" offensive? If being gay isn't a bad thing, why would people get upset at you when you say it in a derogatory sense and not just blow it off like if you said "that's so straight"?
Checkmate heterophobes

the reptile conspiracy is real yea

what ever happend to sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me? our society has become so weak if it were not so sad it would be very comical. i say what i want to say and eff the PC police. i'm not even sorry when i hurt someones feelings. to me actions speak louder than words and anyone that disagrees with that is a hypocrite. i'm more interested in what you do than what words you say.

Edited by DANGEROUS JEZZA: 10/2/2014 1:31:41 AMOh come now i find it funny when people decide to ragg on others and pull the "your gay" or some similar comment. First you gatta understand that in the eyes of the person who just made the comment it is a putdown cos if someone said the same to them they would be all like "booooo hoooooo that peson said something uppsetting (true or un-true) either way im gonna act all sooky and cry" Second you gotta understand that the afformentioned retard puts to much in what random strangers say or may think and as a result makes the same mistake most do. They reflect what motivates thare actions onto others believing wrongly that others are motivated and de-motivated by the same things as them. You know what the best reply to derogatory put down "your gay" "You say that like its a bad thing buddy"

Someone doesn't know the definition of demeaning, offensive or derogatory.

Edited by Chilly: 10/1/2014 5:59:31 PMYour premise might be flawed there, guy. Also, it is deviating from the norm...so...there's that reason why "gay" or "fag" is derogatory while "straight" is not...yeah... Don't try to justify your need for attention, guy.

Dats ghey

Gays are bad
-
If you get offended by the word retarded, you're gay.
-
It's more along that it's being 'used' as an insult than taking offense to the word itself.
-
Edited by Lord Keksworth: 9/30/2014 9:54:05 PMI often wonder what exactly people mean when they say something is 'so gay'. Like when somebody tells me 'I have so much work to do, it's so gay'. Um, what? Your work is homosexual?
-
I agree. I use gay to call things stupid. And Im gay. Seriously. Its gay.
-
I feel the word's evolved to something that's not offensive at all.
-
You answered the question
people get angry when you say it in a derogatory sense
nothing is an insult until turned into an insult, and used over time negitavely, basically, you are saying that no words are bad, and we are making them bad, the thing is, you are shaming one way or another. The reason people get offended is because, " why does it matter?" Ex.s "dude don't order fruity drinks that's gay" " if you date him you'll look like a slut! " " I bet he has a small dick " "Stop doing that you look retarded." Every one of these terms is used negatively, when it shouldn't be, that's why people get mad when you use these terms unwisely. These things do not matter and you should use other terms if it's so necessary to mock others. -drops microphone-

That's so gay!
Just proving your point, lol
OP is straight

Heterophobes? There's people afraid of straight people?

Your trolling skills leave much to be desired

Damn straight! Damn gay?! Damn asexual???

Shut it gaylord.

Negative connotation. Checkmate, internet guy
-
Good for you. I'm sure you're rather gay about your point :)
-
Because with history, being called a fgt or gay was negative, and the words have changed in meaning but still hold a negative weight. You're proving that society today is wrong and that being called homosexual shouldn't be an insult because being gay isn't bad.
-
Being offended by anything is retarded. People can be offended by anything (just take a glance at tumbler,) so the phrase; "I'm offended by that." is meaningless. It's not my job to keep track of what triggers you have and steer my way of speech around them.
