Dear "Bungie Owes Us" Folk...

If you really think Bungie owes you free DLC just because you don't like the game or you think it's too short or you don't get exotic weapons often enough: You are an idiot. You chose to buy the product, whether you pre ordered it or didn't wait to read the reviews or had too high of expectations or felt Bungie mislead you, the point is this: you bought the game. You paid the price Bungie asked for their game, you got what you paid for. If you are dissatisfied with the product, trade it in, throw it away, play something else. You are certainly entitled to have an opinion about the game, but you aren't entitled to free anything. Grow up. This is how the real world works. Edit: There a lot of people who think Bungie owes them because the game is broken. But Destiny is not a broken game. Final Fantasy 14 when it first came out? That was a broken game. Virtually unplayable, everything was a complete mess and Square Enix let people play for free because they knew it was broken. Everybody knew it. Destiny may have some balance issues and kinks that need worked out, but it is by no means broken. Also, there are those who feel Bungie owes them because the game isn't as it was advertised. To which I say: so what? Tons of games aren't exactly the way they were advertised. That's the whole point of advertising: to sell you on their product! Aliens: Colonial Marines is a great example of this. I remember even being kind of disappointed by Mass Effect because I expected this huge galaxy and got a bunch of linear missions and boring planets to explore. (DISCLAIMER: I love Mass Effect. But it definitely wasn't released as advertised) None of this means we are entitled to free stuff. It just means you bought into the idea of the product before you tried it or read reviews or waited to see what others thought of the game.

  • Bungie basically sold us a bare game that was probably re-tooled/re-worked from the ground up after key people left. Having disputes about the general direction of the game from within the company doesn't help either. From here, they have content that was supposed to be on the game but now had to be re-done to some extent which probably explains why we see content on the disk we cant access yet. But they still have deadlines to meet so basically we got an unfinished product. This is obvious because the story makes no sense. It's like we were dropped in the middle of a Harry Potter book. I feel we'll eventually get the full story about our characters and the world as they continue to flesh out content or w/e was cut out of the original version of destiny. No doubt, feedback from us will have influence on the destiny universe, story, lore and w/e else. Whether people want to wait that long is another story but I can see both sides of the argument.
