No chat functionality? No proximity chat? It's just sad.
How can a company like Bungie who has implemented superb voice/text chat in others games, fall so horribly short in the creation and implementation of one of the most amazing games in human history? Destiny is just that... Amazing. But what kind of lifespan can we expect out of a game where we are so alienated from each other? I mean, you have to work really hard to find other people to group with. You have to breach unimaginable walls just to voice chat with another player. That is just sad!
Bungie please... implement multi-level chat functionality ASAP. Implement better ways to find groups and like-minded players. The new world of gaming is all about social interaction and connecting/finding one another. Why do you think World of Warcraft has survived a decade and still going STRONG? This isn't the early 90s. It's not even the early millenium. The time is now and it's almost 2015. We need better ways of finding each other and communicating with each other.
The feeling I get when I run around Destiny is like... the scene from the Matrix where Agent Smith removes Neo's mouth and all he wants to do is scream, but he can't. I see all of you running past me and I want to scream THIS WAY! Follow me! Let's play! Fight with me! HELP! But I can't do anything other than Dance, Point, Sit, and Wave. I'm a mute. Pure and simple. A mute. And well... that is just sad. For a company with such amazing talents and abilities when it comes to the creation of the most stellar game in human history... you just failed when it comes to the basic concept of being human, which is communication. What makes humans human is our ability to communicate. And we just can't in Destiny. So what kind of Destiny is that? :-/

2 RepliesPart of what I like about Destiny is the lack of open chat. There's nothing more annoying than "listening" to people just sitting and talking about whatever they please. And yes, I know it can be turned off, but a game should not be a place to discuss politics or flame/troll. If you want to communicate, join a clan who talk on skype or whatever while playing. It's so annoying when some random stranger I don't even know tried to talk to me.

No chat, No Voip and selective use of matchmaking. Do I really have to harass randoms in the tower or organize a game with another service on a separate device to make a certain missions viable? Like you could have even made chat bar to use, You the PC version surly will so its not like it would be wasted effort to implement. This is crap.
