I would like to hear from a member or members of Bungie or Activision on the cave farming, i am quite interested. I am sure most of us are.( not complaining. I want community and creator views and opinions. Lets be civil.)

You can also farm that place on Venus, where the Fallen and Vex battle. Spawns are virtually the same. Only difference is the cave on Earth, is much more concentrated. Like a tube of tooth paste lol
-
I doubt they care that players are killing enemies.
-
If they don't mention something about it in the next newsletter am going to be disappointed.
-
they dont care its a mmorpg that means farming like learn what that means bro come on god -blam!-ing damn it im so tired of stupidioty
-
Could care less what Activision has to say. They would probably try to charge admission to the cave entrance.
-
I just hope Bungie sees how broken the current loot system is. When shooting into a cave for hours on end is more productive then running strikes or playing pvp there is a problem.
-
i personally dont care if other people do it but deep down you all know it is an exploit. the fact that all these people are trying to justify it as the way the game should be played is what frustrates me. i am 98% certain that the during the design phase of this game the devs were not thinking "hey wouldnt it be cool if there was a cave where all the players could go to endlesly spawn kill hive to farm for loot thats supposed to take them days to aquire in an hour or so and completely negate all the other stuff we are throwing into game? "

I cave farm. It's boring. But allows me to get material to upgrade with. Chances of getting anything good from this method is very slim. It is faster and easier to just level up a faction and buy the legendary gear from them. But it is the easiest and best way to get material for upgrading. Just like doing chest runs. It's a game.
-
You wont hear from them because they don't speak directly to their community.
-
I think they have silently responded to the cave farming. Every 30 min a special event happens (defend the warsat) and twice it landed directly on the people farming the cave killing them.
-
I am not pro or against it! Destiny is an experience for the individual. You make it what you want it to be! I am not gonna let it ruin my experience worrying bout what others wanna do! Just wanna have fun!
-
Yeah, goodluck with that. I can count the number posts in the past 20 pages of the board on one hand, and all of them are crap like "Let the raiding begin" or "Hey, here's the PvP mode for this weekend". There's no post with any substance with any indicator of what direction they hope to take the game in in the future aside from "moar raids!!1!".

Edited by Lawlzor96: 9/21/2014 3:41:53 AMWhatever floats your boat, I say. It's not like it detracts from your experience. If you don't like it, don't do it. I have found it tedious and not worth it. I get better gear from engrams found during missions, but if you are a lucky one and like to farm, all the luck to you. I would not consider it cheating at all because you still take hours of your time to get something you won't necessarily get anything good from. It's an exploit by definition, yes, but it is not cheating. To all those who are bashing on it, I dare you to get three legendaries in a 24 hour period. It is a royal pain in the ass, as I have had no luck whatsoever. You'll start seeing green engrams in your sleep, like me.

Yea I agree
-
I say we must continue to fight this darkness by any way we see fit. Every little bit helps
-
I learn to look the other way. Just have fun the way you like to play

To be honest, why does it even matter? Bungie said it themselves. We made this game so that you(the players) could play the game exactly like you want to. It's not a cookie cutter game. You don't need to do strikes all day to get good items. VoG will give you items but is very difficult. I've only cleared two bosses in VoG myself but my armor is good to go. And I purchased my armor from the vanguard vendor. I also bought my rocket launcher from Xur. Got a legendary fusion rifle from crypt arch level up. And I still enjoy the cave. Basically it comes back down to how you specifically want to enjoy the game. You like farming? Go farm. You like grinding? Go grind strikes, or pvp. Incidentally grinding is Also commonly referred to as farming. Long post and I apologize. Key note, play the way that makes you happy.

I think the cave looting is stupid and should be patched. There's literally kids sat there doing NOTHING and getting legendary weapons. I play until my hands get sore to get my unlocks. These clowns sit there well some saddo kills level 5's. If you do this, you're bad. Bad at games, bad at life. There's no need to reply and attempt to defend yourselves. Exploiting lazy people simply cannot win the argument against legit gamers.

As Activision already publishes two of the most farmtastic games known to man, I don't think you'll get the answer you're looking for if you want it stopped. :)

Honestly getting the gear is not the hardest part. I got all of my gear but now I have to get like 200 different materials for all of my gear so I can do VoG to get my level 30 gear that I have to farm materials for to level THAT gear up. All of that so I can eventually have the best gear I can get for Iron Banner. Also I got all of my gear from the crucible and Dead Orbit. I farm for fun and to level up my useless Cryptarc.

Edited by Tonberry: 9/20/2014 11:37:12 PMWhy would Bungie care? Farming is a core aspect to literally every game in the world with any RPG elements.
-
I still don't understand what's the big deal? If people want to farm and waste their time leveling up then so be it.
-
You mean afking to get the best gear in the game is fair? Bungie is stupid for letting this go on so long, ruining their own game slowly but surely.
-
Remember those early trailers? Bungie specifically said that whatever you felt like you had the time and energy for, you would be able to do it in Destiny. Sometimes you want the adrenaline filled strikes, and sometimes you want to just stand and chat with people without having to run around and think too much. The number of drops per baddies killed/rounds fired is going to be roughly the same regardless of the activity. So there is no real advantage however you want to do it. It's just personal preference on the day what kind of game you want to play, exactly as they intended. Just think of it as in game whack-a-mole

I feel like some of these whiners have never played an MMO other than destiny before.
