I am having the same problem, Destiny has been out for awhile and I find it ridiculously embarrassing for Destiny that they haven't fixed this well-known issue MANY of Guardians have been forced to deal with. I bought Destiny 2 weeks ago and I have been having a great time with friends by doing raids, strikes, patrols, etc. But whenever I even attempt to play Crucible which at this time is Iron Banner I have NEVER attained a green bar connection. The moment I start/join a match I am not surprised to see that my connection is red which makes it literally IMPOSSIBLE for me and my friends to enjoy a PvP that isn't CoD. Ten minutes ago, I was in Iron Banner on Mars which seemed like a normal game for me; normal as in kills and hits not registering, the constant "Contacting Destiny Servers!" on the bottom of the HUD taking 20% of my screen, the occasional invincible lagging enemy teleporting and walking into walls yet still getting kills, the hiding behind cover and still getting shot, and my personal favorite is dying and not being able to respawn for 2-3 minutes so I can watch my team fight without me! I was able to respawn and get two kills which surprised me knowing I got punched twice by a Titan Guardian and I was still alive but not long after I lagged out of the game which sent me back to Orbit. I ejected the Destiny Disc, held it in my hands, debating whether or not I should snap the disc in half, unplugged my xbox, and put it in my closet because I could not bare the lag the Crucible gives me. Call it overdramatic or over exaggerating but Crucible is not worth playing if you literally can't play it.
