The exo stranger theory
My theory is that the Exo stranger is from a time where the heart of the black garden never got destroyed and the darkness took over, which explains why she has no ghost and why she says she wasn't born in the light

She has no ghost and wasn't forged in light because she's not a guardian. Only guardians have ghosts

I have a theory that she is part of a community/group that managed to flee Earth during the collapse into a part of dark space. And that our guardians are from the same community but died in Russia shortly before being found by our ghosts. Our deaths were long enough ago for most of our memories to fade, but skills and the ability to communicate in our native tongues was kept. The stranger has seen many from the group die and be revived by ghosts hence why she refers to the ghost as "Little Light". This also explains why she finds your character "interesting". She has seen many revived and died, but you manage to make it. This also explains why she almost acts like a close friend, but stays distant.

She's from the future, A future, where the Traveler wasn't, and she used Vex technology to jump into a distant past and try to stop the Vex from exploiting the Black Garden and destroying the solar system as we know it..

Doesn't she work for the Queen? Wouldn't that suggest that she doesn't have a ghost because she's an agent of the queen rather than a guardian of the Traveler?

Story Spoilers Below If you look at the stranger's rifle's description, it says something about some parts of the gun not supposed to be existing yet, suggesting it is indeed from the future. As another response said earlier, though it is from the future, it is also probably from an alternate reality adjacent to the one our guardians are in. She specified she was not forged in the light, meaning she could of been made in a time where the darkness has consumed everything, or by another being than the traveler. Who knows o.o.

2 RepliesIt's certainly possible, the vex time travel, maybe she is from further in the future people have studied the vex well enough to figure out how they time traveled? There was a grimoire card that told a story about dissecting the vex, and how while they were dissecting it, it simulated the whole situation even down to when one of them said OH, so they are more advanced than anything we know of.

When her gelato shop was destroyed by the darkness she vowed revenge. She now works as an agent for the darkness so that she can reveal knowledge to the guardians. She's a spy.

She's always talking to someone who is somewhere else and was called away to help defend someon/someplace in the mission where you first visit the Ishtar Academy.

4 RepliesHmm, I wonder who she was talking to... And apparently, has the same reverence for the Traveler as the Queen... Which is odd if she wanted the Traveler to help save them. Probably from being not 'Born from the light', much speculation to be had.
