A real guardian never sleeps. I've had this idea for over a year and I think the community could help make it a reality. The plan is to make a group called Late Night Strike. This group simulates what it is like to be a real guardian, as you'll be called upon to log on Destiny between the hours of 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. to complete a mission in Destiny. You sign up monthly selecting how many missions you want to complete and the weeks you're available to do so. Through some technological means yet unknown to me, perhaps an app, an alarm will go off on your phone and prompt your mission, strike, crucible match or raid. Of course there are some hurdles here so I'll go ahead and list some of them. 1. Time zones mother f*****: How do you take into account different players time zones? 2. Alarm mechanism: How do you wake the members up? 3. Who is in charge and what are the rewards? 4. Who would want to wake up in the middle of the night and play a videogame? Well, I would and I doubt I'm alone in that. 5. But people have jobs! Well go dream about Gerber baby food while your mommy rocks your cradle back and forth gently through the night. I'll be protecting your pacifiers and stuffed animals from another f****** planet. I think the experience would resemble that of a guardian being pried from their tower bunk in the early hours of the morning to go protect mankind, basking in the twilight glow of the Traveler before venturing out into the unknown. Don't we all want to feel like that? Don't we all want to be brave? Here's the thing: Destiny is what you make of it. There are already people whining and boohooing that they're bored because they've conquered the game, and I think a lot of people will agree that they're the most unimaginative boring players out there. The Bungie community has thrived through features like Forge and groups like Red vs. Blue. To sit there and expect Bungie to do that for all of us is shameful, and I want to be proactive in using what is there in Destiny to make the best out of it. We all have jobs to do and other responsibilities, but I don't let that fully dictate what I can and can't do. Pushing yourself to have fun usually pays off. Participating in Late Night Strike might leave me feeling groggy and tired through my work day, but I'll say that's a small price to pay for the memories and friends I'd make. I know it'd make me feel like a total badass and I hope the community would feel the same. Well what are everyone's thoughts, criticisms and low brow insults. Let's blow this discussion up.

  • Guess I'll start throwing ideas in here. To prove one's worth maybe some sort of reward could be had after 7 complete missions. Maybe some sort of emblem or secret haiku.
