8 RepliesI'm saying a obelisk should be erected somewhere in the final game setup to honor the apha and beta guardians kinda like a large force that held the darkness at bay to buy time, but hey I'm just a humble gamer asking for a miracle.

I honestly don't know why they took so long to tell us this. I expected it even BEFORE the alpha that our test characters wouldn't transfer over. Test characters are just that... for testing use only. The crash test dummies. Am I sad to see them go... not in the slightest.

3 RepliesBut beta characters never go over to the full game, that's just a given? Isn't it? It's expected. For the best, I say. I'd like to try a Titan next or a Warlock, I only played as Hunter.

Who the -blam!- are all these asshats trying to berate people who are having some opposite opinions about not being able to carry over their BETA character? How about you shut the hell up trying to tell others how to think. Did they say they weren't going to play the game? No they didn't. So once again, stfu. I dislike that I wont be able to keep some of the stuff I gained with my character, but that doesn't mean I'm done with Destiny. Others and I, don't have to submissively fall in line, just because some of you want to be insulting little trolls. If you toe the line each time in your life, then do that, but don't tell others they should as well. People have a right to discuss opposition. Most of these people aren't even complaining, they are just expressing how they wished they could have kept their character. COngrats if you don't care one way or another.

Did you all ever think that the reason why we will have to start over is because the game will have more customisable option, and I would be willing to bet that the start will be different to the Beta? So I would not stress about doing the same stuff all over again. What we played in was just a sample of what we could do and to iron out the kinks in the game. I think there will be lots of surprises for all of us, even those who played in the Alpha and Beta test. Hay, if the removers are true, I want to see if we can use swords.

1 ReplyGoing into the beta, I was almost certain the characters wouldn't get carried over. I was totally OK with that and still am. You see, not only did I get a chance to play at least an early version of the game, I helped contribute to making it an even better game, one that I now know for sure that I'll be getting because I got a chance to test-drive it. As far as "losing all my work", I've had to go back and re-do a whole lot more of a released game that I paid full price for from another company because of bugs. And if keeping my firstborn Guardians means bringing bugs into Destiny because the original code and the new code won't play nice together, well. I know what they'd chose.. And if you think about it, they've been dead before, even if they don't remember. That's ok, I'll remember for them when this time around they first hear Ghost's voice and they open their eyes, ready to take on the Darkness in their new improved forms.

43 RepliesI'm all for a fresh start, we have to give the people who didn't play the beta a fair chance otherwise there would be an unbalance. The Alfa was fun, the beta was awesome and I can not wait for the real deal! Even though I tried all 3 classes in the Alfa and beta I still have no idea what I'll start with in September, is anyone feeling the same?

13 RepliesI was thinking that bungie should so do a monument of the falling guardians and place it on the tower... Now that would be something I could look at with my new guardian and say " I'm proud of you Dad you did good... Now it's my turn to fight the good fight " :)

My guardian has fallen. He is dead…and so are millions of others, but eventually they will all come back reforged in fire once again for the darkness cannot fully destroy the light of the traveler. They will all return, they were dead once and now they are again. But with the light of the traveler they will come back more powerful then they were before. We have lost many but the Darkness shall not eradicate all of us!

The Warlock I was may have returned into the Void from whence it came. However, this is no end. A new body shall rise with the same light. All guardians share this destiny. We will rise and push back the darkness again.

1 ReplyThank you Bungie for the chance to take part in the beta. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I was a bit sad at the lose of my character, but I realize that it is a sacrifice for the greater good of all. As you yourselves have stated, you are tweaking the smeg out of the leveling system, and our BCs (Beta Characters) would be horribly out of place. I personally have never taken place in a beta that had progress carry over, other than a special player skin, or in this instance, a special tag. Again, thank you, thank you for gifting me this great experience. I can't wait for 9/9.

3 RepliesAs cool as an in game monument would be, Bungie should build a real one. Didn't Eve online do something similar. All the records this beta broke should be remembered, as they would not have been possible without such a devoted community. It should show all the numeric records, i.e.; number of players, guardians created, and enemies killed. That would be truly awesome.

11 RepliesI am pretty dissapointed. We're the iron banner tournaments where I earned an legendary hand cannon and the weapons and gear earned for nothing? As much as I understand why this had to be done i think that they should have kept all the characters. I think all the creativity and effort I put into my Titan is lost forever...

1 ReplyI did not find out about the limited time moon event until the last second I jumped my ass back on so quick, then realised I Missed it but sometime later they re opened it then I was happy, but sadly I missed the public event with the devil walker, had no idea, that was going, I just fail to notice things sometimes. :(

13 RepliesWow! How many people are going to cry about this? The fact that bungie felt they needed to do an entire news post on beta progress not carrying over tells me there will be way too many. This has always been a beta folks. Every time ive mentioned this on the forums ive always said beta progress never carries over. Thats how betas work!!!!
