The solution to the complaining about the Ghost Edition
I don't know how good/bad of an idea it actually is, but with all the people that are complaining on here about not being able to get a GE, I think it might be a good business decision for Bungie to make more Ghost toys to sell separately in their store. I'm not saying they should make more of the red ones that come in the GE, just make standard white ones that you start out with in the game.
This way, the people that are complaining can have their Ghost toys while the red ones that come in the GE can maintain their rarity.

6 RepliesIt's a good solution but I still prefer my idea of going to Bungie headquarters, dowsing myself in petrol and setting fire to myself. Maybe then they'll listen. It worked when I tried it at Coca Cola when they changed the taste. One quick fire protest later and they changed it back. This time I'll remember to have the skinned tramp ready for the transplant. What a hassle it was last time trying to find a tramp whilst fighting off stray dogs trying to eat my cooked extremities.

Edited by cellar dweller: 10/2/2014 4:18:25 PMi already got my ghost edition and my fancy red ghost to prance around the tower with, and im glad its limited. there are few things in the game that cant be earned or bought plus it comes with the season pass. unfortunately the emblem it comes with sucks and is bright orange.

4 RepliesHow hard is it to buy a light and make a paper mâché or foam craft, paper craft and wood glue ghost? You could even customize it like you would in game.

They very well may be planning to sell several versions. Maybe even one fancier than in the Ghost edition. Gearbox has done very well with Claptrap action figures, etc so I am sure a heavy merch push will roll out.

I think Bungie really underestimated themselves and the popularity of their game. Destiny isn't just a new game with new concepts and ideas of what we call a shooter or a multiplayer. its their first game after Halo, its their return to the playstation nation, it is so many things but most of all its a new beginning and they did a damn fine job on the beta if all we saw were just ice crystals on the tip of an iceberg. I believe a limited edition should be limited but it should be proportional to how many standard edition they plan to sell. plus preorders should give them the numbers for how well they are doing and how many to make.

The G.E. isn't even that important if I had one I'd sell it. Some of you act like a plastic toy and metal case is so important.

I think there should be *other* Ghost toys, maybe not the same one that comes with the Ghost edition. I'd love for a floating Ghost toy on a magnetic stand, for example! Also I think the blind box idea is great!

You don't know what the ghost shell will be until you open it up most likely you'll get the default but there is a chance to get an awesome exotic shell that comes with an ingame shell code and when you have that shell equipped it gives perks and light levels

i sadly regret not preordering GE because i had to pay 550 for mine off of ebay but its all good seeing that im a collector of rare and exotic games

Liked the idea, but many things would need to be changed about the "new" ghosts. Besides changing the color, they should remove the voice and other features. If you just change the color then people can repaint it. Make it more than just color. I didn't vote because of these reasons. I also didn't get a GH edition, don't have the money.

I came here expecting you to say bungie should make more ghost editions, but I'm surprised. This in my opinion is a great idea, maybe sell more then just the white shell, but never the red one(should stay unique and rare). Dare I say it, I would be tempted to buy a second ghost if this happened...

I agree, i thought this when i first saw them. i'm sure they will be sold separately at some point even if its from some random toy maker. im also hoping for a code so you can have your ghost in game with you.

We are all fans of this game. Having cool toys and stuff to have around is a way to show how much we dig this game. Making more ghost toys that are different from the limited editions would be an awesome thing for all fans. It would not reduce the limited edition value. Also, buying limited edition games and toys are not an investment. It is very very rarely one would be able to profit from something like that.

The Ghost is begging for a blind box style toy. Each one comes with a code for its in game color (b.net code so platform doesn't matter.) Some colors are more rare than others; say white and green is common, but finding a metallic gold one would be very rare. I also would love a keychain size Ghost.... anyone have a 3D printer?

I read a post a while back that said Bungie should make collectible Ghost keychains/figures with their own rarity & you would be offered a code that'll give you the skin in game

I think that is a very good idea~! Also having a custom option that doesn't include the skin you get with GE. Just so it keeps it's exclusivity, but having multiple skins for them is awesome.

I can see this going the same way as any other collectable item, straight onto ebay. That;s assuming that the Ghost toys will be limited.
