There is no chance I will ever have 5 friends online at the same time to do a raid as I moved to S.E Asia and most of my online friends are in another time zone. This means that I'll never get to do one of the best parts of the game and has put a real doubt over whether I'm actually going to buy it now.
I do understand the argument for not using matchmaking, but it will exclude people from the thing they're buying the game for.
I don't see why there can't be an option of using either private party or matchmaking. Pretty please Bungie, give the people what they want ..... the choice!

+1, I have read a lot on this subject recently pros and cons, & understand both sides. With that being said the option for matchmaking should still be there. The ones that want to argue that raids are only for a team of like minded people working, & communicating together to get through it and obtain the best gear is fine. Then you won't have to worry about those of us trying to obtain that gear through matchmaking since supposedly it'll be too hard for a bunch of random's to complete lol. With that being said the choice should be there whether you use it or not. Will I complete the raids with my friends absolutely. Will there come a day for one reason or another, I can't hook up with a handful people & just want to jump into a raid with randoms, then hell yeah : ) 9/9 can't get here soon enough.

I don't join clans, I don't have a huge friends list on xbox one, I enjoy being a lonewolf. I still want match making for raids. If I pay $60 for Destiny I want access to all the cool stuff it has to offer.I don't want to be limited on what I can play simply due to a lack of friends on my new xbox one. Support your customers that upgraded to the new systems Bungie. It was not cheap. Give us match matching for raids on Xbox One and PS4. Don't leave it out just because Xbox 360/PS3 are too old to handle it. Ditch the old and support the new consoles.

Edited by ShadowDragonCHW: 8/1/2014 12:52:45 AMNot all of us. If they add matchmaking, people will complain about the difficulty. The raid is meant to challenge you. Do you know how hard it is when I'm trying to do a challenge and the other 5 randoms with me are screwing around? Very hard. By what I've heard, the raids will be impossible if you don't have an organized team that is communicating. Since the creation of the Xbox Live Party system (I don't know about PS), a very low percentage of people actually talk with game-chat. Which is really sort of sad... I used to fill my friends list with people I met, and now I hardly talk at all to new people. Raids would be the same. If there is matchmaking, people will go in, get 5 randoms who aren't talking, get screwed by the first mini-boss 7 times, and then quit. Then go on bnet and complain that raids are too hard. Then the raids get nerfed. And do you know what that means? Completing the raid then will mean nothing. And the entire point of DESTINY IN GENERAL is to make you feel like you've accomplished something. I hope Bungie will keep their heads and not add matchmaking to raids...

Matchmaking raids is a very bad idea. Join a clan early on by the time you are ready for raids hopefully you guys know each other decently enough to exchange gamer tags.
