I may be a girl, but I'm not going to claim to share every girls opinion, because we're not a hive mind and the only authority I have is my identity and what's in my pants. I don't speak for women. While you spend time displaying your beef with him about talking about women [b]at all[/b], your ignoring the multitude of comments degrading women who dare to touch a controller. Why? Men are allowed to insult us, but not praise us? That doesn't sound fishy to you? Any girl you meet will probably know that, in joining this community, we're unwelcome from the get go. Games aren't geared towards us. Most of you don't seem to like us, think we're fishing for attention, or something stupid like that (you know how much video games cost? How much a console is? Yeah. Who in their right mind would blow money on something they don't like, for the attention of strangers?). This isn't fighting our battles, he isn't "fighting" anyone. He's being [b]nice[/b] to us. It's something that, to me, says "hey, it's cool to have you here", which is a lot better then being told to "make me a sandwich" or "go lose some weight" or "your ugly". So next time you feel the urge to criticize someone for trying to make another person feel good (which is what your doing), at least have the decency to not dress yourself up as a the voice of reason. And to those saying "it doesn't matter": yeah, it shouldn't. But since the majority seem to have a beef with my vagina, it does. I don't want to be erased. You don't have to marginalize any piece of yourself to play video games. Because neutral, to you, is male. I may not feel the need to wear my gender on my sleeve, but it's a part of me, who I am and my identity, and my neutral isn't male. Besides, why do I have to sit down and be quiet about my gender while there's people running around with tags like "longdong" To those who's response was "they exist?", the answer is undoubtably yes. Did you know that women make up about 45% of video game players? That "women, age 18 and older, represent a significantly greater population (31%) than boys 17 or younger (19%)"? So yeah, we exist. I think girls who play games are gamers like you and me. Stop making girls who play games feel awkward guys. Quit hitting on them when they play online games and asking ridicules question like for example what's your bra size.I've head that asked to many times in online lobbies. Let's stop making a big deal about girls playing games. It's so common nowadays. This is why plenty of girls play games with their mics off or have gamertags/psn IDs that don't reveal in any sort of way that they are a girl. Ok well first off I'm not a girl gamer but a female gamer. I'm not 12. Although I know it's just a term, so no hard feelings. :) 2nd female and girl gamers are all beautiful no matter what game they play (just playing Destiny makes us extra special) ;) 3rd I'm not an extreme feminist. I don't go waving my tampon in the air but honestly, we are gamers too. We are no different, not special and no special treatment is needed. Just give us a controller or keyboard and watch us go! 4th Although some can be a bit militant or the other extreme gaming sluts most of us really just want to play the game, find the best loot and have fun.
