Edited by TheUnknownMerc: 7/30/2014 4:36:40 PM...I was an avid supporter of Raids...It was something I was most excited for about this game. But no Matchmaking? Well GG Bungie i'll need to stick to PvP and strikes now. I get home from work at an obscure time where most of my friends are offline already. So i'm going to need to find friends to add and get into a Raid with...great...and i thought this would be a game that didn't make you go out and make friends. Off to strike I go then and PvP

The article was weak at best. It was nothing more then a near 100% transcript of the interview video peppered with a few other videos. The raid video itself, though.....hnnnnnngh =F Sexy.

I just read part of ign raid review, and has IGN lost their fukn minds, calling me a quote, "desperate" player. So because i have no where close to 5 people i know in real life who are getting destiny i am a desperate player. I have been feed up with ign for a ling time but this just icing on shit cake.

I guess this confirms leveling past lvl 20

Edited by Horns: 7/30/2014 9:39:01 PMNot having matchmaking for endgame content is common practice. I remember when The Binding Coil was only 5 turns. There was no matchmaking for it. As the game grew and evolved and things like coil weren't as rigorous they started implementing it. I'm just not surprised by this news. Anyone that has tried anything remotely difficult in an MMO style setting will know how detrimental matchmaking can be. You could spend weeks trying to clear an objective and come up short with pugs. If you took the time to talk to some people after having assessed their gear you could come up with a group that could practice the raid and clear it within a couple of days. Or if their gear is weak you could work together to get them ready for the raid. This is what it's all about! This game is about community and this mechanic forces a dialogue that opens up said community to a common goal.

Randoms don't work on raids, sorry I don't want to play with a bunch of people who quit after the first wipe, I want people I can communicate with, not people who queue up but have to leave in 30 minutes

Edited by Hexal: 7/30/2014 8:45:33 PMLmao everyone's like what are friends where do I find those? NOooo friendships my worst enemy...God I'd hate to have friends man this really ruins the game...Where can I purchase friends?!? Lol it's a optional post story mode that you don't have to participate in if you don't want to go with friends...And if you want to participate in it FIND SOME FRIENDS...
-
I hope the raids are impossible to beat but they wont be because im a God.
-
I'm down to practice them solo, I won't make it far, but if I do, more exp for me lol
-
This sounds pretty awesome.

The last thing you want is match making in a raid. trust me. It will not be hard to get into a clan. it will not be hard to meet like minded people to raid with. Lets say they do match making how would that some scrub gets in our raid has no gear or and can't play for shit. There's hours wasted because raids are hard. they've always been hard. bad person in a group usually means no loot for you. just frustration as you fail over and over again.

Edited by KataclyzmiK: 7/30/2014 9:02:07 PMLack of MM is a mistake. Even with 100 friends it rare that 5 will be playing at the same time and want raid. DUMB!! Not to mention doing over and over because no one will beat a raid first run.. hashtag retarded.

Edited by Cheshire Heart: 7/30/2014 6:34:44 PMThis is the first time I'm iffy on destiny I don't like having a lot of friends I have one really good friend that I play games with and we mostly keep to ourselves chat wise I was really hoping for match making but meh I guess I'll just have to go outside my comfort zone to enjoy raids first world problems lol I do think it's gone be hard to find people to do raids with if you don't have five friends on since the only way to chat is to be in a fire team so it'll boil down to people in the tower inviting random lvl 20s to their fire team to ask if they wanna do raids lol another problem I see is most of the people on my friends list don't even have an xbox one Q.Q siiigh
-
So basically if you're using Destiny to escape your poor poor life because you have no friends then you're -blam!-ed lol
I'll be your friend
-
I was very excited after seeing this. I want that grey titan's guantlets!
-
Now that we know a little more about raids the achievment for having a full fireteam complete a raid without anyone dying seems ridiculous
-
They seem awesome but I don't like the idea of puzzles and the disappearing platforms. I didn't buy this game for arcade stuff like that.
-
Looks like i should get ready to solo it
-
What stood out to me, there's going to be DAILY story missions! So I get the feeling they will just give you the starter package and then give you tons off free, growing, developing content. This is going to be amazing

Edited by TwigTwig: 7/30/2014 5:21:56 PMNo raid matchmaking? So now I need 6 friends on destiny at once...
-
you can join my clan if you don't have enough friends. name is ravenants of onyx
-
This makes Destiny look even more amazing than before... Awesome...
-
I'm gonna be looking for players to play with then! Message me if interested
-
Holy shit those monsters were humongous...This just made destiny even cooler than it was...Wtf bungie and your making us wait till 9/9 for it :,(
-
It sounds good but I won't hold my breath if they turn put to be a true challenge that requires everyone to not only communicate but hone their teamwork with each other that would be perfect. There isn't enough detail to really tell if it will be like that though, there is enough on the game to make me buy it and play for a long time so if the raids are great that's awesome but I'm not expecting it and it won't turn me off from the game if just anyone can group up and complete them.
