I like the social aspect of interaction at the Tower Social hub. To wave, point, dance, sit. 4 directions on a d-pad.
But what if holding down the left trigger or L2 on the gamepad allowed those 4 gestures to be changed to something else.
Eg:
L2 + up = gesture follow me
L2 + down = lie down/lounge
L2 + right = secondary dance
L2 + left = set waypoint (controlled with right thumbstick for waypoint location)
...or something similar to that.
Is this a good idea? In the Tower, the left bumpers/triggers aren't used for anything so they would not intervene on gameplay when you're out in the field.
What other gestures would you like to see?
I think gestures in d-pad should be assignable so you can tailor your social interactions with the kind of Guardian you want to be.

Edited by OldManSeven: 7/31/2014 2:09:30 PMI would like to add one. Don't care what button I have to press but it would be nice if I was able press something and my Hunter was able to instantly pull out his hand cannon and put a bullet in anyone's forehead when they start dancing. Oh, also all of you children who think teabagging is still funny. Headshots for you losers too. I know I'm asking a lot here so maybe just a action that expresses my displeasure with your immaturity. That would be nice.

maybe they can add something like in the first fable you press up on the D pad for a list of emotions and then the other 3 buttons can be like flash light map and maybe a favourite emotion
-
Make all the emotes on one dpad button and make it pop up a menu that you can assign a key to each one however you want, problem solved and new button for other important controls.
-
I would like to see more emotes. Much more. With full customize option so we can add whatever we want to what button we want.

Good idea. Nice job. VtxR

http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post?id=66708811 I think is a better system.

I think they should have a button open a emote wheel so as to free up the rest of the D-pad buttons. the only thing that weirded me out was in combat all 4 D-pad buttons were used on individual emotes.

Good idea

And while in orbit.... Dpad up: Open hatch, eject and float away Dpad left:Fire lasers Dpad right:Fire missiles Dpad down: boost forward and drift back into place Left bumper: Flip/roll left Right bumper:Flip/roll right

It is particularly a good idea for those who have language barriers, or can't speak/hear. As there are more social interactions or emotes for the Tower, L2 is not customizable for co-op missions or PvP battles obviously. So why not have the option to double press the D-pad arrows, but allow the option to customize our commands or fireteam leadership orders, for instance: D - Up = Go go go! or Let's move! D - Down = Hold it! or Stop! D - Right = Need backup! or Help me! D - Left = Searching for ammunition! or I'm out! Then by double pressing the D-pad arrows, you get the typical wave, point, dance, sit or even more various emotes (which might allow us to select what kind of emotes we wish to have assigned to the buttons) based on how you wish to interact through the missions or PvP matches. Voice chat would be utterly useless for some of us (as well those without any headsets, not interested in them or can't afford them), and we need more clarity through the missions especially if you are co-operating with your friends! :) That way, it would apply to all kinds of people, not just those who want to talk online, it would be similar to styles of MMO and Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn is one fine example of how emotes are fun and pretty understandable even without any noises! #feedback #gaming #help
