Just like that, I get the appeal of this game. In spades.
So far, I've been running around the destiny world on my own. Today, a daily event started and I was fighting alongside a stranger. After the event, he sent me a Fireteam invite and we started doing some marker missions. Later, we tackled the Lair together. After that , we danced.
We never spoke a word. I don't know him from a bar of soap. But we had a hell of a good time together.

We can dance if we want to. We can leave your friends behind. Cause your friends don't dance, And if they don't dance, Well, they're no friends of mine.
-
Unfortunately i made a move from the xbox to ps4, leaving me with no friends to play with. I haven't had any awesome random encounters like you but i hope i will.
-
This is what the game is meant to do: allow people to connect to other people and have fun! I am glad you can experience this for yourself, my friend!
-
Lol same thing happened to me today. It was a nice experience and now I have one more friend in my friend list.
-
I ran around the tower as the world is being attacked and played with a ball with other guardians. Was it right to abandon my post? Probably not. Was it worth it? Yes.

Wanna know what would make it even better? Story mission queues 3\3and explore orbit queues 3\3 like how devils lair has a queue.a lone wolf option as well, which keeps it the way it currently is. That way you still send and accept invites should you change your mind. This way you're already pre teamed up with 2 random if you're not already in a fire team of friends. I also advised fire team expansions. Fire team alpha and fire team bravo , created in explore mode to run in a bigger group for public events. a 6 guardian team. It splits up for mission instances though, unless a very higher difficulty is made. I'm an ex phantasy star online player. Although Destiny has no lobbies...I really wish it did. In phantasy star online you can go to the mission counter, and see all current players playing missions and teams and if the party is private or not. It was really cool. You could see a name you recognized, someone you forgot to add as a friend and join their mission in progress. It gives the ability to jump right in to open slots, or start your own separate adventure alone, or queue up. I made a really big list of cool game tweaks I as well as others currently ask for in Destiny. Its In #feedback, hoping the right people see it.

This sounds like a movie I saw...how to lose a guy in ten days?
-
Its crazy how we communicate with simple gestures like point waving sitting dancing jumping shooting tbagging etc. i think with all the comms problems ps and xbox shared we still managed to speak to each other sometimes the gaming community surprises me
-
You should date that guy
-
Still a better love story than twilight.

Don't drop that soap

I've reconnected with people on my FL I haven't played the same game with in YEARS through playing Destiny. Many of my FPS game friends I met playing either BF3 or BRINK, but we've since gone our separate ways playing other games. (Some moved on to BF4, some CoD, some Dust 514). Destiny is the kind of game that we all can sink our teeth into. That for me is well worth the price of the game. Being able to get on and play with friends again in a game we all mutually like.
-
And that right there is why this game will be amazing xD I danced on the corpse of a devil walker a couple days ago with a complete stranger xD
-
I fought my way through level 8 lair with only one other person because the third guy quit on us. We juggled the Devil Walker's aggro, tore through the usual legion of fallen, and blew Sepiks Prime to peices. And at the end, we both waved to each other and just sat down, both of us thinking, "Yep. we're badasses."

I know that feeling. I joined a public event and this helpless level 2 joined as well. I beat it before he could do anything, but then sent him a fire team invite. We played in silence, until he brought out his mic and I did the same once mine was charged (long game night yesterday) I helped him level up to 6 and beat the Devil's Lair and find the golden chests. It was great and now we're friends on psn. Way to go Destiny.

I too, have had very similar experience. Agree 100%
-
I love this type of stuff. its what its all about for me
-
Yeah, I haven't run into a person like that. Maybe because of my country? Everybody is just running about their business and aren't helping anyone. I would like to play this game with somebody who has at least a bit similar way of playing - cooperatively

Beautiful moment indeed.

Dancing pretty much sums up the game. No words, no rage, JUST DANCE!

Seems to be much akin to the experiences that people were having with the game Journey on PS3. An ineffable bond with a complete stranger.
