The intro to Destiny is the exact same as BL2.
CL4P TR4P finds you and wakes you up in the snow telling you that you are a vault hunter who was defeated and need to get to sanctuary (the main city)
Destiny: Your ghost finds you in a rusty car, wakes you up, tells you that you are a guardian who died and says you need to get to the city.
In both introductions you start with no weapon but your companion finds you one.
No way I was the only one that noticed this.

In Halo, Master Chief is woken from cryosleep by Captain Keye's instructions, who gives the Chief his first weapon. In Halo 3, he's woken after free falling from orbit by Sgt Jonnson who gives him an assault rifle. In Ocarina of Time, Link is woken by Navi, who leads him to the wooden sword. Basically you've stumbled on what we call a 'standard game play trope'.

Edited by Vibe With God: 7/21/2014 9:15:18 PMRayman on the GameCube started almost exactly the same, and that was before Borderlands 2. Get ready to get your mind blown! Okay, here it comes... most games start that way!!! Mind-boggling amiright?
