I would like to be able to fly my own ship out into space and explore. Maybe even have like fallen and hive ships to battle or raid? It would also be cool to customize the ship with weapons and colors. PvP starship battles too? Just some ideas I had. Thank you for your time!

To bad Bungie already openly perished any thought of having any form of flight sim in the game

I too think this is important to have in this game because it gives players more of a variety of experience and what real purpose is there to have a ship and pay money to upgrade your ship when you cant do anything with it?! I also would like to see the option at some point, to have maybe bigger ships that you can see the inside of and invite your friends to visit you. Yes, I played Star Wars Old Republic and thats where i got the idea but it was very cool to me and gives you a feeling of that being sort of a home or meeting place that you would want to upgrade.

Edited by Nemesis Black: 7/22/2014 7:32:04 PMWe need this - What's the point of having cool starships if you can't do anything with them? Also how good was the space combat bit in Halo: Reach? Awesome that's how good! Like Crimson Skies in space! You could've given me a whole game of that and I woudl've folked out £40 for it. Yeah it might take a fair bit of work to implement - but if it isn't a priority in Destiny's "10 Year Plan" then I'm not sure Bungie have enough vision for this IP. As it was Bioware missed a trick not doing it with Mass Effect. There was an old Sega Megadrive/Genesis RPG I loved as a kid - Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday that had player-controlled ship combat, boarding and you could pilot it around the solar system finding side quests, secrets, random curios as well as it being essential to plot. And that was in 1990!!! With a PS4 Bungie or anyone-else has no excuse. None at all.

Edited by DEZARATH: 7/28/2014 4:23:25 AMBungie was too busy dropping the ball by telling themselves they were expanding off the rails to create basically the same prior experiences. Of course flying your own ship would've been epic. Star Citizen has broken records on crowd funding. Players want space sims again. Bungie could have capitalized on that, but instead chose not to. The sad part is they would've been great at it. Five hundred developers saying they wanted to tap into the inner kid basically got schooled by five guys from Hello Games on what the inner kid really wants. Spaceships and space dinosaurs. Riding or flying on them in any order will do.

Yes yes would be cool
-
Yes especially bc I got the legendary ship !;)
-
Hell I'd be fine with just being able to fly my ship around in the exlore mode, kindof like flying a banshee in halo. If you fly too high you just go out of the amosphere and back into the orbit screen. I doubt it would be too hard to implement this in the game either.
-
They don't even need full missions in space for me. I'd be happy if you got like mini ambush battles in space as you're on your way to a mission or picking up distress beacons and having to defend them.
-
Bungie, I know from all your games you could craft a beautiful spaceship driving engine and have not only fast travel but space travel as well... which would just be you and your friends flying in spaceships through space. As you get close to a planet and reach its atmosphere, the game could go into a cut scene and land you in a starting area.
-
Bungie earlier announced they would not be implementing a system for starships. They will be purely cosmetic. Destiny is not a flight simulator.
-
Bungie forget the kitchen sink, people want the kitchen. The kitchen including the roaches and rats. It would make for a gigantic Conan meets He-Man can do universe/game. Do it Bungie people would pay homage to you. You would be propelled up to exalted God like status. Imagine finding a strange new planet and contracting Space Herpes Simplex 78?

Exactly what I'm hoping for. It'll be a bit disappointing if you're not able to fly your ship in anyway.
-
Would be nice if the ships at least added something to the character, maybe more starting ammo or special ammo drops. Right now its alot of glimmer for a better looking load screen.
-
Star Citizen says hello.
-
I would like there to be more to do with your ship.... although I now doubt they would do it for the initial game launch. I could however see it happening as part of a DLC (whether paid or unpaid is another matter entirely of course). Although I'm not quite sure what it would entail... I can't see them opening up the whole "map" for exploration, although I could see them maybe allowing you to go to a certain sector or area and doing some exploration.
-
Couldn't agree more. This was the first thing I thought when watching the loading screen. At the very least we should be able to move the ship around while it is flying to it's destination. But having a little mini game would be awesome instead of just watching the ship fly while the next stage is loading. And also there should be an option to play that mini game or not.

If only it could happen
-
Cool yes. Possible....well let's see...it would mean in essence creating a space-sim game from scratch and incorporating it into Destiny, and while it has kind of worked okay-ish in SWTOR and SW: Galaxies, I'm not sure if it would work in Destiny to be honest. Maybe as a paid expansion later on? Maybe in Destiny 2 in a few years? But for the Space portion of the game to be worthwhile it would have to be a fully-developed and programmed game in it's own right which has been added to an already fully-developed game like Destiny ($500 Million dollars so far or something?) Now the thought of Space-based PvP Combat where the ship you bought acts differently to other ships and where upgraded weapons parts and engines create a unique starship for everyone...potentially it could be very cool. Will it happen? Probably not XD

It's waaaaaaaaay to late to add that now unfortunately
-
It's such a good idea and I want this sooooooo badly but Bungie said "no" to this multiple times.
-
Hell ya
-
I would personally love it if you could call your spaceship for air strikes
-
+1 Of course bro!
-
It only happen in Starwar cause Bungie more focus on fps
