How many hours of gameplay should I expect my first go? Any hints?
-
I'm at 24+ in my first playthrough...not done yet.

Took me over 50 hours my first play through of Dark Souls 1. I had a dedicated friend to co-op with though, so less grinding required and less trouble with the bosses. Co op makes the game move a little faster, and its really fun if you have a friend to do it with. It can add play time, too, if you help other people in their games a lot.

I have no idea because I would go idle and leave the game on for hours so my playtime is like 60-70 hours.

A lot. And for 100g it will take you into your third play through (at least).

Edited by Flee: 7/18/2014 8:33:48 AMMy first Dark Souls 1 playthrough was 30-40 hours, I believe. The best hint I can give you is not to look anything up. Just play the game, be wary of your surroundings, think logically and take everything in. Using guides to get through certain areas, to find out how to beat bosses or where to find the best weapons really takes a lot of the fun out of it.

The first playthrough will take around 50 hours but once you know everything things will be easier I now have a char going to ng+4 at 70 hours

It took me about 50 hours, but I had been informed of a few things beforehand unfortunately. As far as hints go... Just Play

Working on 2 now, 1 took me like 90, but I definitely spent a healthy amount of time grinding and screwing around with as many weapons and spells as I could...
-
It took me about 56 hours, and I googled some stuff.

Dark souls 1 or 2? My first playthrough on 2 tool me 50 hours and that was woth exploring, no guides, no summons.

Edited by Failure4Life: 6/24/2014 2:56:47 AMI beat it in 41 hours but that's because I've played Dark Souls 1. There is a bit of an absurd cutoff at a certain point. I recommend going through ALL AN NPC'S dialogue before continuing as if you don't you may get stuck when they don't do what they are supposed to.

About 80 hours your first play through DS2 took me about 50. Much easier game.

That really depends how you play. If you rush through areas without getting items and staying alive, you'll be done pretty fast. My best advice, play it slow. Analyze every area before walking in. There's almost always a hint of what's in the area. For example, there is a bridge early on in the game with a drake that flies over and burns you. You can tell that was coming by the burned marks across the bridge. It's stuff like that which is helpful.

As long as you aren't cheating by getting hints off the internet, a standard first playthrough can go anywhere from 60-90 hours. Mine was... I think I was around 80.

60 if you don't google anything
