Competitive Multiplayer - Your Ideas

They were pioneers in the early X-box Live phases, and were constantly on the cutting edge of the software and technology. In terms of game play, Bungie also spends a huge amount of energy and man-power to keep the competitive multiplayer new and exciting. Rather than the usual "Deathmatch" and "CTF", they were constantly creating new experiences while also allowing the community to sculpt the worlds and game types they wanted. But now we have Destiny. A completely new universe that has been described as being "built from the ground up to be a cooperative experience". Without belittling how excited I am to venture into the universe with my buddies, I would like to focus this thread on some community ideas about competitive multiplayer. [i][b]What would you like to see? What ideas do you have? How can Destiny re-write the book for competitive multiplayer much like Halo did 10 years ago?[/b][/i] Dream big, I'm sure they are watching and waiting for the next great idea to implement in their new universe! I will check this thread and update it with the great ideas that are posted.

  • [b][i][u]Survivor[/u][/i][/b] Essentially a 14-player free-for-all. One life only. Each player will start with one weapon they will choose in the pre-game lobby. The weapons the players choose from are an array of Assault Rifles, Designated Marksman Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Submachine Guns, And Handguns. Accompanying each player from the start will also be one perk. The perks are... [b]26K-[/b] Sprint infinitely [b]20x20-[/b] Increased aperture zoom and accuracy [b]Zerker-[/b] Increased weapon damage and decreased weapon accuracy [b]Blend-[/b] Can completely turn invisible for a short period of time. Can not attack or move while invisible [b]Looter-[/b] 1.5x more ammo from ammo pickups [b]Prized Eye-[/b] A red trail is shown on screen to provide the quickest route to the "Special/Heavy" weapon slot ammo drop [b][u][i]Game Objective[/i][/u][/b] 14 players will start out on a massive nature map with the weapon and perk of choice. Scattered throughout the map are fresh water areas and supply drops for the various weapon slots. Each player must race to grab supplies for their weapons and to begin to seek other players.... Or to hide from them. To keep players from hiding too long, their will be a dehydration meter. When the meter reaches the "red zone" players lose mobility, endurance, accuracy, and carrying capacity. When the meter runs out, players lose consciousness for 30 seconds and their location is revealed on the other players maps. As the 30 seconds of unconsciousness ends, supposing a player does not come kill you, your dehydration meter goes back to the red zone. You can completely restore it by finding water. Ammo also decreases over time; forcing players to tactfully manage their time between killing players, hiding from players, scavenging supplies, and keeping hydration. The ammo never reduces you to zero, and instead will reduce your ammo down to zero on all weapon slots except for one clip on your primary weapon slot. When the game reaches 15 minutes in, if it does, all players positions on the map are revealed for 30 seconds. When it is down to the last 5 players, their positions will be revealed every 30 seconds. The last player remaining wins. Size of reward is based on how you place, how many players you killed, and how long the overall match is.
