I'm not great at guitar, but I'd like to get a pedal for a more hard sound. I'm edging toward the Big Muff with Tone and Wicker, however I am open to both fuzz or distortion. I've been looking at videos of the Big Muff pedals and they seem great, however I've heard good things about the Boss DS pedals as well. I would like to try these pedals out, however the closest music stores to me are pretty far away as I live in a rural area and when I went last time, they didn't have these pedals.
I am open to other suggestions if you have any, but nothing over £60 really.
Thanks!
EDIT: I like to play lots of Neil Young. I want to start playing more Queens of the Stone Age and stuff like that as well though. Alternative rock with great, simple guitar riffs I guess.

isn't it obvious? the best one! (also known as the second one)

Queens of the Stone Age is more fuzz oriented, that much I know. I am not very well versed in pedals, tho

Get a good stack amp and a Boss. Active pickups for more output. Turn that shit up to 11 and blow the roof off.

Edited by A Wild Sceptile: 11/21/2013 3:32:19 PMAs someone who's extremely biased towards Electro Harmonix... (six out of my thirteen are from EHX) go with a Muff. The tone wicker would be a better option than the standard. You could also look into the Germanium 4 Muff, but that might just stretch over your budget by a little bit.

Obviously depends on the sound you want. Boss is solid for distortion though.
-
It depends on what you like to play.
-
Yeah I'd go with Big Muff with your budget. However if you ever find yourself wanting to upgrade I'd take a look at the Pharaoh Fuzz.
