These pictures are all taken on pc with the graphical settings maxed out, the only difference is the resolution. the 900p and 720p have been rescaled to 1920 x 1080, how they will be on ps4/xb1. I hear a lot of people saying that it isn't noticeable, but for someone like me who sits fairly close to their screen (pc gaming and all), the difference is very noticeable. of course, you can only fully appreciate the difference by actually playing at the different resolutions yourself, these pictures don't quite do it justice.
with that said, look at the back edges of the gun, the light rays, the edge of the scope, and the trees. these are areas where the differences stand out most in these pictures. jaggies are much more prevalent in 720p, and the tress/foliage are much more blurred in comparison to 1080p. 900p rests somewhere in the middle.
if you don't have a 1080p capable tv, you won't see a difference regardless which version you play. plus, it depends how far you sit away from the screen and how big it is. so if you have a giant 50" 1080p screen, the difference is going to be very noticeable from pretty much any part of the room.
i know a lot of you already understand the difference these resolutions create, this is purely for those who say it doesn't look any different. when you are playing the game on whatever platform and jump to another, you will notice a difference immediately.
EDIT: circled the areas i'm referring to
again, it's hard to compare these resolutions with still images. the differences you can see are only subtle, but they are there, and they are much more prevalent when you actually play the game at these different resolutions yourself.

Soooooo... Those look the same.

WHY CAN'T I NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE???

Edited by brandorobot: 10/31/2013 2:59:26 PMWell the Xbox One and PS4 definitely won't be at max settings so the difference will be more noticeable. They'll probably have 1x AA at the most.

I have a 46" tv and sit about 10-12 feet from it. There's really no difference in the resolutions at that range.
the 900p and 720p have been rescaled to 1920 x 1080, how they will be on ps4/xb1
This is the part that is problematic. The methods used for scaling an image from 720p / 900p to 1080p is not a universally applied method; each console will do this differently - I think the BF4 videos show the XB1 does it quite well. I'm not sure your images accurately represent the end result, given the rescaling wasn't done on the individual consoles. However, there's no doubting 1080p native is better than 720p rescaled.

So little difference for me to care about.
-
Are they all the same because I can see the same names in the squad in all the pics and the clouds are the same.
-
I don't see a difference.
-
And not a noticeable difference was seen that day.
-
The only difference I'm seeing is the scope on the gun, which looks slighty better on PS4/PC than it does on Xbox. Now I'm gonna ask you a question. How long is someone gonna spend looking at the scope of their rifle whilst playing this game?
-
The only difference I can see is the scope image getting slightly more noticeable. Other than that they all look the same.
