  • I still think Tartarus on Legendary is one of the worst boss battles ever created. What are the rules? Who the hell knows. A combination of wtf moments; Johnsons magic beam rifle, falling off the edge kills you but not tartar, only the carbine seems to affect tartar once his shield goes down, magic monkey shield of convenience..... Honestly, what were bungie even thinking?

  • Guilty Spark He kills off one of my favorite Halo characters, and then he was just a bore to fight.

    • That bullet spongy wanker on the hardest difficulty. While you're attacking him he makes him self invincible, so you have to attack these three structures to turn off his invincibility. All the while he's sending more bullet spongy enemies at you and destroying your squads or vehicles. Finally, he has this attack that will insta-kill units, and the only way to avoid it is to pull your men back. Problem is, most melee units can't pull back in time, meaning the only way they'll be able to survive is by using their jump packs. Which only two melee units in the entire game have. ;_;

      • Back in the day it was M.Bison on the highest difficulty. If you managed to win a round then he turned up the whoop ass and made you his bottom bitch.

      • Metal Gear Rising. Senator Armstrong boss fight, in the Jetstream DLC. Specifially, while going for the 'Beat boss on Hard with no damage' trophy. You thought he was hard in the main game? PFFFFFFFT You didn't play the DLC. This spammy bitch has punches that hit you when you're nowhere near him, can somehow fly, constantly changes attack-mid attack and spams the grab move about 6 times in the space of 7 seconds.

        Probably the Octoking on Duke Nukem Forever because of a lack of room and cover. Or the Worm because of the same reason and the lack of oxygen.

          • Design-wise it's Master Gee the Invincible in BL2. "Oh you have some of the best gear in the game?" Too bad you can't even scratch Gee's shield. Instead you have to try and get him to walk through pools of acid, half the time he doesn't even absorb. Sounds fun huh?

              Hyperius the Invincible from Borderlands 2 managed to kill me in god mode somehow, so I'd have to say that guy.

                  • Worst as in a just cheap boss that is poorly designed? Or worst as in just a pathetic boss fight? Cause Shao Kahn in any Mortal Kombat is just a cheap utter nuisance that just breaks the game. As for pathetic boss fights, I would say Demon's Souls (predecessor of Dark Souls) "last" boss fight. The final boss is a slug with a sword that taunts you. After all you went through in that game the last fight you are greeted to in a playthrough lasts about less than a min.

                  • In terms of difficulty I have more than one on my list: Every final fight in the original Mortal Kombat games with Shao Kahn being the worst (seriously that guy can go -blam!- himself). Mundus from DMC (one of the reasons I have yet to even try the harder difficulties). Hugh from Castlevania CotM (I could probably beat him now, but since I never could when I was a kid I'm going to count him). I have more but I can't think of them right now. In terms of being overall crappy: Every boss from DMC2... Seriously, most of them have the AI of an uncooked bean with Orangguerra (some dumbass lion monkey demon thing) being the best example of that. Mundus from DmC (a complete joke compared to the original Mundus, hell, the game itself is a complete -blam!-ing joke. Only people that were never fans of the series to begin with like the shit game)... Lambent Brumak (is that even considered a boss?) Again, there's more, many more but I can't think of them atm. Did I mention every boss from DMC2?

                    • David from The Last of Us. He wasn't really a bad boss but it felt like such a transparent attempt to have some sort of climactic "boss fight" that it felt kinda silly and out of place.

                    • I gave up on the Street Fighter 4 guy with the yin/yang on his chest. First round done no prob. Followed by a brutal ass ramming on his part. I'm surprised he doesn't throw a couple coins at me while uttering whore after the match. F'n stupid...

                    • I loved Tarterus from Halo 2, but hated him because he was so hard on legendary Co-op, 6 hours of military grade teamwork. Ok that may be an overstatement, but you get it, it took us 6 hours of us being in the zone with teamwork.
