What do you guys think about the new kinect coming with every Xbox one ???
-
I feel that Kinect is just one of those things that are only entertaining for just the first few times that you use it. Then it just becomes an excuse for Devs and Pubs to shoe-horn mechanics into the game and by then it's just an inconvenience to use it. I'd rather hit a button than talk to the damn thing. What if people in my house are sleeping?

I genuinely don't trust that thing to be plugged in and "always on"

Edited by Progo: 9/12/2013 7:45:01 PMIt's very cool tech, but honestly until we get holo-rooms it will never go beyond voice commands for competitive gaming. What I'm actually excited about is how tinkerers and developers will use the tech to make new gadgets. Furthermore if MS goes bankrupt they'll sell *cough* videos of me, *cough* you know...

The kinect is actually awesome. Here's the problem. No one programs for kinect because no one has it because no one programs for it. By Microsoft making sure that everyone has kinect, developers are more likely to add kinect support to all if their games. This is a good thing.

It cool technology that seems useless for gaming

Edited by Blazin Phoenix: 8/27/2013 5:06:46 AMMicrosoft has not mentioned anything that would convince me buy the current Kinect nor the new Kinect. I wouldn't bother connecting it to the Xbox from what little I've seen of the Kinect lineup of games and features. Now, if MS/EA announced that Battlefield 4 was going to integrate Track IR-like head tracking with the Kinect then they would have my interest. That would be a great way to get the interest of "hardcore" gamers. Hell, if that happened then it would be the perfect time for Codemasters to bring Operation Flashpoint back from mediocrity and bring the war simulator back to consoles. This might be a shitposting thread, but I have to gush my thoughts.

im going to get my money worth from it, but i probably wont be buying any kinect only games.

The ability to make you look like a tard

I think it looks good and that there will be some definite benefits to having it. I'm excited that I don't have to buy it separately.
-
Do I use the Wii? No. Would I use a Kinect if I had one? No. Will I use the 2.0? Probably not. Certainly not motion gaming so at best, telling my Xbox to turn on.

Edited by Peeeezy: 9/12/2013 7:15:46 PMI thought you could buy the x1 without connect? Or separately
-
I want it inside my face. Now.
-
I'd be more excited for it if Skyrim was ported to the XB1. That way I could get my nerd on and yell, "Krii Lun Aus" at everything and have it actually do something.
-
Want it and want to try it should have been deprecate choices -_- I don't want one, but I'd like to see what it does.
-
Im sure they will catch a ton of osama bin ladens!
-
I hope we can sell it back to GameStop.
