Your Travels, Your Stories
I was inspired by [i]BearCat's[/i] [url=http://www.bungie.net/7_Best-Idea-Ever/en-us/Forum/Post?id=61143041#referred-Destiny]post[/url] to create this one.
What if you had the option in Destiny to write short stories and/or commentary on your various adventures. These short stories could then be read by other players at The Tower but what about the possibility of having your stories transferred to the Bungie.net forums.
With this idea there would have to be a sub category within the Destiny Forums category so that the regular Bungie.net forums wouldn't become crowded.
The stories could even be part of your guardians character profile whenever you accessed it.
Maybe the new share button for the PS4 could enhance this idea as well since it would be able to be included with your story and show a small section of what happened during your journey.

The idea sounds awesome, but I'd rather let my exotic weapons and gear tell my story for me, or at least look so awesome where it compels people to talk to me in the City and ask me how I got it.

1 ReplyWhat if this was turned into a refined and interactive file share system? Players would take their files which could range from stories such as you described to full blown videos and pictures. It could work as a "Guardian Database", holding the kills, assists, skills, exploits and so on of the many players of Destiny. Bungie could even go so far as to make an extension of the Bungie app or the homepage itself to include a way to manage and share your stories. (Just my take on this idea great concept BTW. Love to see something similar to this implemented.)

1 ReplyThink about the creative side of these commentaries, if you have your own bio and what not like mentioned in [i]bearcat's[/i] thread. It would take rpg to a whole other level. Just saying you could hold up a character in all lights with a feature like this. I'd be astonished.

3 RepliesAll I really want is a big announcement screen ticker. It would give players in the city alerts of special events, advertise B.net, and display a fireteam along with the rare boss it killed. I can imagine lounging in the city, watching the screen, recognizing a friend on the ticker or even seeing a player from the screen in-game. "Hey, are you really the guy that killed ____?" "Sure am."

2 RepliesSounds like a nice idea in theory, but I don't see many people reading many of those stories, it will be a one way system, somebody will write an "awsum" story about their character killing fifty billion Cabal then getting in a space hot tub with a bunch of girls, they will upload it, and nobody will read it, same goes with actually worthwhile content. I doubt anybody will bother.

1 ReplyInteresting idea, although it needs to mature a little more. Let's see if I understood it: So, with PS4's share button you would record your adventures and add voice to it? Or would it transform it into text for posting in Bungie.net? Sorry if I missed the point, it seems too messy right now.

I'v always been interested in interactive things between players, really if it was a TV screen or few showing players or something , since you brought up the share button made me think of that, It would make me actually stop and look more and longer, but even the short story idea is something, knowing that would be there is interesting. Wondering how fast they would be scrolled up and so on, if its stone carving or on a screen, so on is making me want to go look =p, they should do something like that where you can see something of other players. Interactionis always fun in MMO's.
