Star Wars: Battlefront

What are some of your best memories? With Lucasarts being closed and all the future doesn't look so bright. But there's comfort in nostalgia, right? Both 1 & 2.

The whole thing felt like I had a bunch of action figures from my childhood running around, doing what they did back then. But I had finally got the set pieces that were always missing. It was about being able to explore the worlds, although not infinite in size, but open enough to let my imagination run wild like it did way back when. It was a great universe to play in, and no matter how many generic storm troopers they could throw at me, it just felt right.

  • Battlefront was what really brought me into gaming. Everything before hand was a simple little pass time.

  • The first one was definitely the best in the (short lived) series, but I could never really play either for long periods of time... just a couple of games then it would get really boring. Definitely stopped playing completely when I went 97-12 in a game... Ill never forget that! Star Wars games will continue to come out as long as other developers are willing to do them. The Old Republic seems to be going nicely... dont personally play it, but have friends that do.

  • They were probably the first games I took seriously. I played BFII before the first one, but I thought both were great. If anyone ever decides to put out a SW:BFIII, I'd be happy to buy it day-one.

  • I remember when I got Star Wars Battlefront 2 for Christmas, I was so excited for the game I ran upstairs and started to play it, I remember the excitement of being able to pick the death star and the one thing I still remember out of all my good memories of the game was when the option to play as luke skywalker appeared on my screen, I literally froze with joy as I seen it, then began to hack up stormtroopers left right and center ^_^ good memories

  • I really liked both games; in fact, were it not for my dad bringing the original home on a whim one day I never would have developed a liking of shooters, and I wouldn't even be on this site. More on-topic, I really liked the space combat and capture the flag modes of the second game. It didn't have a moment of incredible joy like when you first realized you can run the invincible Jedi's over with a speeder bike in the first game, though.

      • I have better memories of the first game than of the second game. The second game lost a lot of focus of what made the original so much fun.

What a terrible game. Deserves to be burnt at a stake. I would rather put my faith in post-2007 Bioware to create yet another fantastic experience like the flawless Mass Effect 3. OT: Playing its sequel was a pretty good memory
