Welcome to Bungie thread?

Seeing as though Bungie is going to release a Destiny trailer soon, I think that it would be the perfect time to make a thread for the noobs. In this thread, noobs will post questions regarding Bnet. It would help reduce forum clutter and question spamming. Should this thread be implemented?

  • I don't know if the "Welcoming Committee" is a select group of people, but the new comers will find there way around easily enough. And for the stragglers that fall to the way side, there enough community members here to help them get back on the right track. Grant it, some members will not be as nice as others. But through the new design of the site, (reply notification, PMing) things will be easier to handle. Bring on the fresh fish.

  • This is what "The Welcoming Committee" is for.

    • The welcoming committee already handles that sort of thing. What we could really use, is a Bungie.next 101 of sorts, giving new users a basic run-down of how to use various features of the site.

    • That's not a bad idea, what advice would you give a new member? I for one wouldn't call them a Noob, I hate that term, if anything call them a Newbie, it sounds less hateful.

    • Don't worry, a team is already on the job :)

    • The thing about that is there is no way to make it a prominent thread on the forum, where it is clearly visible by all who first enter. If only there was some way that we could SAVE THREADS, that would allow important or interesting topics to be placed in an area with other TOP FORUM TOPICS. Man wouldn't that be a great feature on this site? I bet it would be used all the time and never be removed. Oh wait...

Introducing the Bungie.net Welcoming Committee, but it does not seem very visible nor exactly what you are suggesting. Perhaps such a thread should be implemented. What do you think would be some good information to include in such a welcome thread? It seems to me that a brief description of the forums, and how the tagging system works, definitely needs to be included, as well as a link to or description of the rules (don't be a jerk). What else? Actually, now that I think about it, such an introduction may exist when one creates a new account but I am unsure.
