Turned 16 back in December, and I'd like to get a job by the time summer starts or before hand.
I've applied at Publix and Moes so far.
What other places hire at 16 years old?

Child labor in Canada is horrid. It'd be easy for you to find a job here.

Edited by petitminou: 2/11/2013 5:24:56 AMMost businesses hire before they reach 16 years of age.

I was hired at a Kmart when I was 16. Big store like younger kids I suppose.

Edited by Gr33n: 2/11/2013 4:18:04 AMVery few places will hire 16 year olds. I would try small business like restaurants that aren't a part of a chain or a store that isn't part of a corporation. Bigger companies will usually have tighter restrictions on who they will hire. I know I got lucky with my job bussing tables at a small restaurant. Until you're 18 and can work a register, that may be your best bet. Just ask around. The best way to get a job is through making connections. I got lucky on my first job, my mom got me my second, and a classmate got me my third. It's difficult to get a job if you don't know someone there or really impress the people there. Most of the people I work with have known each other for years before they worked there.

Walk dem tiny dogs the rich folk always be buyin an make big bank son.

Take it from someone who's been working since they were 12; the food industry sucks. Look to seasonal type work for a first job. One of the best things you can do is find a job with your local park district doing random activities or maintenance. All the fun jobs, for the most part, are during the spring and summer months, so keep your eye open and ask around.

Corners work very well. They might give you me though

Fast food and grocery stores are your best bet. I'd suggest grocery store. The smaller and shittier, the better. I worked at a grocery store in high school and I still miss that job.
