•
Posted by: Sliding Ghost If you want campaign, get the Xbox version. My sig shows the only advantageous thing about H2 Vista campaign (to be specific, you can adjust the level of detail to low so you don't have to put up with lag. I just did a test earlier with level of detail set to medium. I was barely able to achieve the number seen in the second picture).
Yeah Halo 2 Vista isn't optimized very well, however, it does have several graphical improvements over the Xbox version. Plus, on Halo 2 Vista, I can earn achievements while chatting with my friends over Live. The Xbox version no longer has any Live functionality at all. Also, despite the poor optimization in Halo 2 Vista, if you have a computer that's good enough to handle it, you shouldn't have to worry about lag. I can play Halo 2 Vista at High level detail with full Anti-Aliasing and no lag at all. Here are my specs: Intel Core i7 2820QM 8 GB RAM 3 GB nVidia GeForce GT 555M Basically it's a gaming laptop, but if a mobile CPU and GPU can run Halo 2 Vista maxed out, then you should probably look into upgrading your hardware or perhaps you have too many system processes running. Anyways, I'm confident Halo 2 Vista can run on Windows 8 tablets such as the Microsoft Surface, so if your PC has hardware considered "modern" you should be fine.
