The Spartans were like good Communists - they were very disciplined and excellent warriors. Unfortunately the Athenians outlasted them. Athens had a sort of "democratic slavery" thing going on where the elite forced everyone else to work with them. If I were going back in time I'd frag Athens, no offense.
