The 24-hour news cycle makes it seem like the world is going to hell but there are a lot less reasons to be scared these days than previously.[/quote] 1. That's wrong obviously. There have been positive transformations, and that's one of them. 2. Old people just seem a lot more like a "strain to the system" than the past, and kids seem a lot less disciplined and respectful 3. People FEEL less safe in their own communities compared to 50 years ago. We're talking Western civilizations, not poor 3rd world countries.
