A Question: Why Can't Users Lock Their Own Threads?
Why can't a user lock his or her own thread? It seems it might help when an OP's thread is derailed.

While it would be a nice feature to have, it most likely wouldn't be used properly most of the time. For example, someone could look their thread prematurely because they felt that the discussion was over.
