Alex Mercer. All that time spent discovering the truth, being a boss, and defeating the virus... but yet here comes the second game that doesn't really at all explain his motivations and why it is that he went back on everything he worked to do.
Just... Wow.

The Kingdom of Hyrule in Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Being a huge fan of Ocarina of Time, I desperately wanted to explore the ancient kingdom of Hyrule - locked away by the Gods. Being teased by a visit to Hyrule Castle and a tiny path to a cavernous dungeon, I left hungry for the old Hyrule Field, Lost Woods, Lake Hylia, and what came to replace the things I'd come to love in Ocarina of Time. The whole time I played Wind Waker I wanted to explore the ancient Hyrule. I have to hand it to the dev's though. I'm pretty sure that's how they wanted me to feel, and they did a great job... but it still pissed me off, and to this day I want to explore that land, even though it wasn't programmed into the game. I actually went so far as to use an Action Replay to glitch myself out of the playing-field to explore the surroundings, which was completely unsatisfying, since what you could see of Hyrule, distant from the playing field, was actually just a painted wall, basically.
