As Recommended by Recon Number 54, here's the relocation of my thread:
One of the new Jobs at Bungie is "Localization Editor - Spanish (Castilian)" and I've been wondering: Has Bungie ever hired personnel who don't necessarily have to work AT the Studio? (Someone who lives in another country but still manages to work with Bungie).
Here's what he had to say about the topic:
"They are ALL about in-person synergy (even Skip participating in round tables had the POSSIBILITY of an unexpectedly good outcome, at least the possibility). It was experimented with Bungie-West and I don't think that was the sort of studio that the team wants or works best with.
For example, I don't think that _________ would be either inclined (or blessed if they wanted) to telecommute.
Marty
Staten
Jones
anyone"
Posted by: John Shortcutt1 That's true. In part, It'd be easy because it's a matter of translating, which in my case it's even easier due to the fact that Castillian Spanish is my native language. On the other hand, I'd be managing sensitive information, and they wouldn't risk having those details leaked. Still, I wonder if an NDA would help.
This. Being an employee of Bungie Studios, they'd obviously have your name and know exactly who it was leaking stuff considering it's not like giving a studio tour where they're showing the same thing to 5-10 different people at the same time. Even if they send/give the same thing to every translator, they could easily change a word to a synonym here or there to basically tag each script so they would know who leaked what where and when.
