Oh Microsoft did cry ... the effect is known as [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome]Stockholm syndrome[/url]. When someone is held hostage and threatened enough they have a dependency transference and believe that the person doing them harm is actually required. Thankfully someone at Microsoft broke that pattern and bungie got dropped - but not too sure that the long term harm hasn't killed off the brand anyway.
