I got bored and decided to make a brief history of the Halo trilogy. I hope you enjoy and find some things that you didn't see before.
1999 - Pre Microsoft
The original concept of this game was not a FPS but in fact it was to be a RTS game for the Mac PC.

2000 - Halo becomes Microsoft exclusive
At this stage of development the game is a third person shooter.

2001 - Release year
Halo Combat Evolved is shown off at E3 and players get to play the game as it is known (FPS). A few months later the game is released. Trailer.
2002 - Halo 2 Announced

2003 - Halo 2 E3 Release
The famous E3 level that never was.
2004 - Halo 2 Release
It was one of the most anticipated releases of all time and made Xbox Live what it is today.
2006 - Halo 3 E3 Trailer
Finishing the Fight. This trailer gave so much speculation as to what the Forerunner structure on Earth was.
2007 - Halo 3 Released

This game nicely concluded the trilogy and gave one of the greatest multi-player experiences of the decade. It had refined all the great things about H2 MM and merged it with new and ultimate game play experiences.

I still remember seeing the first Halo 2 trailer, got me so hyped - though nothing compares to Halo 3's announcement.

I remember trying to download the Halo 2 trailer. It was back in 56K modem days and took the entire length of a Super Bowl to download. It was awesome. [Edited on 01.04.2013 7:46 AM PST]

Out of all the Halo games, Halo 2 was the best for me. Nov 9th, 2004 was my sophomore year of High School. Everyone was playing and talking about it. Our after school game club, usually had 200 kids who would bring in their own gear and we would use all the TV's the school had. I still get goosebumps over the TV commercial. "There are those who said this day would never come. What are they to say now?" Halo 2 TV trailer
Posted by: Majin YmmotGoku "There are those who said this day would never come. What are they to say now?"
Truth had some excellent dialogue in Halo 2, I loved that line. Something about Michael Wincott's gravelly, ice-cold voice really sold Truth for me as a villain of great depth - magnified by Staten's novel, Contact Harvest. It's a shame he served only the archetypal role of "DEATH TO HUMANS," and had his voice actor changed to Terrence Stamp to make him sound like a madman. I like Stamp, but his voice just didn't fit with Truth the way Wincott's did.

Truth's voice in Halo 2 was far superior to Halo 3.

Halo 2 will always be my favorite. It was just so fresh.

Halo 2 had the best reveal ever. The live E3 reactions were just so win.

I honestly don't know why some actors do that though.
