I finally bought another copy of Halo 3 after my brother broke my old one. Any tips or suggestions I should know before I jump in? Right now I'm downloading all the map packs so I can play all the playlists. Of course I know the basics: Aim for the head, so on and so forth. But any tips to compete with everyone now? I'm pretty sure everyone will be more skilled than me so I just want some tips before I jump in. Thanks in advance.
Posted by: Mythical Wolf
Posted by: sniper09208
You're new. How can you be considered good at the game if you just started?
Because I have been playing Halo for 9 years.

One more thing: there is nothing wrong with camping.

Buy a microphone and learn Spanish.
-
Use an Ethernet cable instead of wireless, because connection. That's about it.
-
The AR is actualy good long range if you use very-short controlled bursts. All it's going to do though is make them move, notice you, and/or pop their sheilds.

The Assault Rifle is -blam!- medium to long range. Use it only on small maps. The best thing you can do is try to set up the situation to go in your favor. Say you see someone and they get the first couple shots off. If there's cover you can get to, if there's a corner you can run to, use it. You won't win that fight anyway. Other than that, use communication in team based games and get power weapons early on. Halo and Call of Duty multiplayer work the same way. If you want to win, you need to set up the game in your favor and punch the other team in their mouth once it is. Hahaha

In all honesty, if you want to enjoy Halo 3 right now then just play Rumble Pit. It has zombies, slayer and a decent population. You'll also play on the DLC more frequently then other playlists. Big Team Battle also has a decent sized community. Other playlists are just completely different than how they used to be in terms of population and competitive play. MLG is good if you can find a game without derankers. The problem is with Halo 3 there's a lot of mexican hosts, bad connection in general, and cheaters.
-
Just general advice? If you want to get good, play MLG, if you can find a match. It really helps with awareness and general skill. You'll have to be more specific or I won't know what else to tell you.
-
tips: buy a good internet or you'll have to deal with very very bad hosts
