Do Spartan 4s have a sex drive?

In the first cutscene of spartan ops we see 2 4s talking about how they made the ladies of some city feel safe and secure... And then 1 of them flirts with Commander Palmer... So how different are there augmentations compared to 2s and 3s?

 •
Posted by: Frisky Cole The Spartan 2's and 3's had a side effects of reduced drive, so basically all of them had no drive.
It was suppressed. That doesn't mean it is non-existent.

 • The Spartan 2's and 3's had a side effects of reduced drive, so basically all of them had no drive. As for the 4s Admiral Parangosky said told Halsey that they woud be normal people. So really they are Spartan 1s with Sparta 2 armor. [Edited on 11.08.2012 6:34 AM PST]

 •
Posted by: Adams_Shoes When I first saw that cut-scene in spartan-ops all I could think was "These are Spartans?" I know 343 wanted to start making the characters more human and relatable, but they really don't seem like Spartans anymore. More like just a bunch of jock-bro-dudes in some armor.
Thats sort of the point I think, they all think they are badasses because they are now in the group that their heros, the Spartan IIs were in the Hu-Cov War.

 • Simply put as we don't know the exact details of S4 augmentations, YES THEY DO. These are fully grown adults going into the program.

 •
Posted by: Ruley117 hmm, good point. For the uninitiated: 2's and 3's were igven hormone suppressants to reduce their sex drive but it seems 4's don't? Maybe they're an even cheaper version of spartan than the 3's? as the 3's were supposed to be "the production line" of spartans, maybe the 4's are like walmart? i.e. fewer drugs and augmentations overall?
Actually that is inaccurate. Some of the augmentations had the risk of reducing sex drive...but it wasn't an intentional part of the program or one of the goals, merely a potential side-effect. There weren't hormone suppressors or anything administered intentionally to take it out. And we don't know much about how the IIIs' augmentations worked, except that they got all of the positives of the Spartan IIs without the possibility for the candidates getting killed in augmentation. I would imagine that because they changed the methods entirely they were able to trim out some of the potential side-effects as well, or reduce how much of it would happen if the side-effect does occur. Actually the Spartan IVs are pretty much on par with the IIs considering they're outfitted in full Mjolnir armor. And the Spartan IIIs actually received all of the same augmentations as the Spartan IIs did, the augmentations themselves and augmenting wasn't what was expensive about the Spartan IIs, it was the whole thing with Mjolnir armor that made them expensive. As for the question in the OP, considering that the IVs all consist of adult volunteers...I'd imagine that they would do their best to remove that possible side-effect. And they obviously do have a sex drive of at least normal levels as two guys in one of the Spartan Ops trailers made mention of "making the ladies of Rio feel safe"...if you know what I mean, and then one of those two guys tried to hit on Commander Palmer when first encountering before figuring out she was the leader.

 • The book that comes with the limited edition has the Spartan (cannot remember his name since I just skimmed through it) mentioning that his augmentations took months, so they put A LOT of them.

 • Even with a reduced sex drive, it's hard to ignore Jennifer Hale's sexy voice. <3 Jennifer.
