Are confident women off-putting?
Just a little something I was thinking about recently. I've noticed that a lot of girls I know who are particularly, let's say, [i]out there[/i] find that guys can be pretty hostile towards them, and that people who know them well tell them they're "intimidating". To me, this is so bizarre. I love confident women the same way that I love confident men. An average-looking girl who's comfortable in her skin is more attractive to me than a girl who's better-looking but won't meet your eye or start a conversation.
Am I alone on this one? (Do girls just see it differently?) Is confidence in women really so off-putting?

I like a girl who can beat me in a debate. Or who knows who knows who Richard Swimburne is. Confident about things that really matter, not over confident though. If someone is super confident then yes, it's very off-putting.

Nope, I find them more attractive then shy girls. Why? Because I can actually talk to them for christs sake. Although what I like the most is a confident girl, but doesn't speak every god damn second. She knows when to crack a joke and she knows when to keep quiet.

I prefer confidence, it's been a while since I played the game, but when I did I preferred women who knew what they wanted and who took it, as opposed to these who wanted me to decide.

I just can't stand women who are brainwashed by Lifetime by thinking men are evil. My mom watches that terrible channel and just about every show they have portrays guys as scum.

I do tend to love women who would be your stereotypical James Dean-era "bad boy" if they were men. Something like a cross between Carmen Sandiego and Jessica Rabbit.

I like women that aren't passive, but also aren't assertive. Meaning, I like it when women are very agreeable and such. However, I also like to know that they have a firm, fine line. Meaning, I like it when they'll stand up for what they think if they think it's gone too far, or if they want to do something, and are willing to throw the idea out there. I like to be able to make the decisions, but I also like to have a good guide. You know, someone who will stop me if it's wrong, someone who will throw their two cents in on moderate issues, but be fairly carefree, otherwise. I feel like "confidence" entails assertiveness, which isn't always fun.

Confident? As in "talkative and willing to make conversation or take leadership roles?" No, that is not off-putting. As in "Obnoxious and forceful of themselves upon any situation with an air of superiority and arrogance?" Yes. That is off-putting. And downright revolting. Same goes for men as well.
