Tell us about where you are from.

Post the city/town/place/country/region where you come from and tell us about it. Adelaide is the largest city in South Australia with a population of over 1 million people. The city itself is not as well known as Australia's other "great" cities such as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Adelaide is a ridiculous urban sprawl with massive lot sizes (An Australia fundamental is most people getting their own "house") and development after development making the city very close to the least dense city over 1 million in the world (Stretches for over 60km.) It's a -blam!- to navigate. It was founded in 1836 by the British. [Edited on 10.05.2012 3:08 AM PDT]

 • The big blue. It's well big and blue. Its quiet and peaceful, expansive. The scenery is amazing, its quite spectacular. The hills, valleys and rock formations. The view. Many mysteries yet uncovered, a thrill. If you haven't yet guessed, Earth. [Edited on 10.05.2012 3:09 AM PDT]

 • Everyone knows that Adelaide is just pubs and churches. jks, my family is from there. I live in the Gold Coast, and all you Aussies should know how awesome it is. For you foreigners though, here it is. For foreigners, that picture is really all you need to know. There's beaches, there's babes, there's city, there's mountains.

 • Port Stephens. Synonymous for "Purgatory" the only upside to living here is the beautiful beaches used for training exercises in World War 2. Perhaps the only interesting thing about the place is the gun placements on Tomaree Head that have since been removed. However the locals are terrible people. A bunch of white hicks who hate anyone who isn't from there or has the southern cross tattooed on their chest or generic tribal tattoos down your arms.

 • Vihti, Finland. I'll just quote Urban Dictionary here:
A post-apocalyptic fairy wasteland where all life goes to die. Also has a lot of factories and a pub. "Dude, I'm moving to Vihti. Got a job there." "Oh, I'm sorry."
•
Posted by: Egerspurge Louisville, Ky.
I was born there many years ago... I currently live in God's Own County which is a veritable paradise full of lustrous meadows, rolling vales and verdant woodland. The city I live in (Leeds) is probably best known for its Rugby League team which, at the weekend, is hopefully going to be crowned champions for the second year in a row.
